After the drama of last season with a tie after the final race and a nervy wait to find out who won, QRO is back with a few changes, but for all newcomers here is the basic format of what will happen, or at least, this is what you have to concern yourself with:
1 - Choose a track to claim as your home GP, there will be a claiming period starting from tomorrow 15th April at 16:00 GPRO Time. All you have to do is nominate one track that has been used in a Formula One Race since 1950 (or is going to be used before 2010) and give a reason why you want it on the calendar. You should know that the questions for the races this season will be based around the track, teams and drivers from the country that the race takes place in, so you may nominate tracks that are not from your home country if you wish.
2 - Choose a team, there may only be 2 people in each team, and I do not mind if you swap around between teams mid-season, you can race for any team you wish as long as they have competed in F1 before.
3 - When the season starts and I say so, you must PM me your choice of pit stop strategy, either 1, 2 or 3 stops, as fast as possible. The implications of this choice will be explained in the next post.
4 - Be on the QRO thread on the forum for the start of the race. There will be a question for all drivers (usually the easiest question of the day) and you should send me your answer to the question (and all other questions unless otherwise stated) in a PM, any posting on the thread will result in an immediate DSQ, persistent abuse of this rule will result in points deductions.
5 - There are different questions for people with different strategies, in each race the timetable looks like this:
xx:00 - Race start, question for all xx:10 - 1st question for 3 stoppers xx:20 - 1st question for 2 stoppers xx:30 - 1st question for 1 stoppers AND the 2nd question for the 3 stoppers. xx:40 - 2nd question for 2 stoppers xx:50 - 3rd question for 3 stoppers xy:00 - The Racing Edge question for all drivers, PM me the answers. xy:10 - "One on One" question to settle any ties, this will happen on the thread and I will write an announcement if there are any ties, if there are none then there will be no question,
6 - And when I post the final results with everyone's times, you are allowed to PM me your strategy, the faster you PM me your strategy the higher up you qualify for the next race!
Simple! I should also mention that there is an External Forum (EF) for this game, which was set up by Callum Raynor, feel free to join up and post stuff there, the more the merrier lol! Here is the address:

Can we please clarify this rule;
Because you often post the final results with the times, then the final results with the points.
Do the strategies come in after the times, or the points?

2 - Choose a team, there may only be 2 people in each team, and I do not mind if you swap around between teams mid-season, you can race for any team you wish as long as they have competed in F1 before.
You can pit once, twice or three times and you get questions to determine your performance in each of the stints of the race around these pit stops, so simply put:
The choice of strategy depends how much fuel is in your car, and thus the time penalty you have because of the weight, so a 3 stop strategy may be best for beginners or those with less knowledge, as there is no penalty for slowness. Whereas if you are on a 1 stopper and take 2 minutes to PM me the answer to a PM then you lose 4 seconds of time, exact details coming up in the next post.
You must PM me with your strategy at any point after the previous race finishes, and 5 minutes before the race begins.
Questions will take the form of F1 Trivia, and you will be allowed to look them up in the Internet if you like, but you will obviously be faster if you don't need to look them up because you already know the answer.
If you don't know the answer to a question and can't find it on the web, or would rather just guess, then feel free to send a PM for that question anyway. ANYONE NOT ANSWERING A QUESTION BEFORE THE QUESTION WINDOW CLOSES WILL BE OUT OF THE RACE, the question window will last for 10 minutes after each question. All my decisions will be final and PMs will be taken in the order they appear in my mailbox, and not the time you sent it at!!!
Again, any questions then please just ask. The next post you see from me will not be necessary to read, it will just be for those of you who want to see how I work out all the times etc...feel free to ignore it if you so choose :)
If you do want to see the full workings then they are here:
Yeah go ahead and join teams, if you so desire you may switch teams every race, so if you wish to not have anyone mess with your team I suggest you find a permanent team mate at the start of the season, so far we have:
Arrows - Chris Carter Ferrari - Tim-Oliver Wagner Jaguar - Simon Cattell and Tom Parker
Please note that the advantage of a team is that if you are both on the same piece of track then you do not lose time, you may want to confer with your team mate over which strategies to take also.
