Quote ( Sinan Bahadir @ February 19th 2018,15:08:37 ) What's Kyalami-gate?
Pretty much every race :P
Because... Still SO many people read weather forecast like this: Rain probability: 1% means 1 lap will rain Rain probability: 50% means half distance will rain Rain probability: 99% means all but 1 lap will rain
which obviously is wrong
It's a weather forecast. That's not exact science :)
So every race is "weather-gate" :)

Quote ( Sinan Bahadir @ February 15th 2018,19:17:14 ) Why doesn't cars immediately pit when they start on wrong tyres? I don't mean the situation where you accidentally select wrong tyres and want to change tyre selection before the race. Managers should be careful.
GPRO is not exactly has a same style as making strategy on F1, which is so dynamic (Plan B, Plan C ,..., Plan Z, etc). Careful is your responsibility, and oh.. if you made mistake at previous race, you'll try not to make same mistakes at the next races, won't you? That's all folks!

Humans become so reliant on automation that they can't accept that human error exists. That's all folks...

Quote ( Florencia Caro @ February 15th 2018,19:22:20 ) Because starting on wrong tyres CAN be a well thought strategic decision, Sinan. Check this race forecast for example, do you think starting on slicks would be a bad idea?
Because the first 30 mins only have a 10% chance of rain and the 30m after that ranges from 25% to 35%, yeah I'd say that's a pretty bad bet.

It also wasn't about this race.
