it is unlikely that any race should exceed 280L of fuel.
unlikely means it WILL NOT be more than 280L per race

Frequently Asked Questions It's my very first race - how much fuel do I need? Unfortunately with no data at your disposal, then your first race will unfortunately be a step into the great unknown!!! However, one small snippet of information is that it is unlikely that any race should exceed 280L of fuel. Do you see this? Any race should exceed 280L of fuel.
Eudes, you read it wrong. See it says "it is unkilely" means that under normal circunstances the consumption WILL NOT exceed 280L.
You are making the calculations wrong because you are not subtracting the fuel used at the time of the pit.
If you started with 100L and pitted at any given time, SOME fuel would have been used (lets say you used 20L). Therefore, it's left 80L in your tank (not used yet) and you instruct your pitcrew to refil to 100L, then they'll add more 20L (remember: there's still 80 unused Liters in the tank), making it 100L as you wished.
They will not add another 100L, making you leave pits with 180L (the 80L unused + the 100L you told then to fill).
The number you enter in setup means to how much the pitcrew will fill the tank when you pit at a given time, not the amount they'll ADD everytime you pit.

Hmm. Seems like a home GP to me. 57C = 134.6F. That's what it feels like sometimes (yes, even with the rain)...

419°F / 215°C? Outstanding! Does that mean next season we might have a GP on Venus?

Although most of you whine and say it's unrealistic, i would point out still a simple fact that as Gpro isn't like F1 it's not like real life aswell.
It's a game that has basics of F1 aswell weather, yet it don't have to have same and logical weather like real life has ;)
and most likely it isn't air temperature aswell so the track it self is actually hotter than air.

I agree Erik, although i admit 50+ is a lot even in formula 1 you have temps of 40-45 or more

Erik is spot on and the fact that it isn't always totally realistic has been addressed before: if weather always matched the expected weather for a location then there would be less weather options on most tracks making the game quicker to master and less interesting.

well if you want to compare to formula 1 Jim, that i don't want to do because it's not F1 :P then on a quick search i found this article:
http://www.formula1.com/news/features/2004/3/1320.html
quote from it:
"James Robinson, Head of Race and Test Engineering, Jordan: “This race will test the drivers and cars to the limit, with track temperatures of up to 54ºC and very high humidity levels."

There is another bug. I used the same tyres in Q1 & Q2, but in Q2 (despite light fuel) I went nearly 28secs slower!
Definately a Bug. Yeah, got to be a bug :P

I understand this, but a rain soaked track would be cooled to very near ambient air temperature. I bet that was a sunny day to heat the track to that temp. Anyway, I'm not complaining, just commenting. I'll stop now.
