In my opinion it is a good idea to add the safety car, yellow and red flags and accidents during the race
|

Please give us some reason.
You are asking someone to do a lot of work here, just on a whim...

I think in a game like this it would cause more harm than good. We already have a weather of random things happen.
You implement something like this and managers patience will be tested I imagine.
We make decisions based on complex formulas, experience etc.
Can you imagine prepping all that and along comes a safety car to bunch the pack all together and the person who pitted just before or after the safety massively wins.
If this 2nd gpro gets off the ground I can imagine something like this having merit but we would require extra options in race strat in case safety car is deployed etc

The big issue with safety cars and such is what is mentioned vaguely by Michael.
We don't have the ability to do in race strategy changes and a safety car requires them (changes that can be good or bad, just ask Racing Point about that), of not it would be an extra random that would surely annoy more managers than weather.
Unfortunately the way GPRO are held and an issue of inequality (some people are asleep or working while the races occur) don't allow this to ever happen.

Please no yellow flags, 55 overtaking opportunities isn't enough here as it is, don't reduce it :(

It would be a better way of shaking things up than changing all the formula of the game engine, which is repeatedly suggested! I'm still not keen though :)

guys this comes again from someone with merely 10 seasons and who hasn't been higher then amateur, it is not even thought through.
if you want more people leaving then this is a feature that should be added

tow truck, doctors and firemen are already there (even if inactive), the others can be added :)))

Yes, it's a good idea?
Think about what we have now, and what exactly those extra settings would consist of, and you'll realise it's not really a great idea.
Also you can use the edit button instead of spamming. We don't tend to write multiple replies to people here, it's not an instant messaging service.
Also also can you please explain why you would like a safety car and flags, and what the advantages are and how it benefits the gameplay? There are already a few disadvantages posted by others so at the moment your suggestion is a losing one.

Laughed real hard at the referee part.
Imagine Robert Byrd getting in the middle of the track and separating cars for not following the boxing rules by the book well enough. :D

In reality, ok Vlad has mentioned many times before about there being private leagues. I'm sure such experiments could be tested by hosts of the private leagues once they're introduced. But in GPRO, I think many people will retire. Enough have retired simply because randoms have spoiled years of their planning, I can only imagining that number doubling (or more) if SC's are added.
Sound suggestion, but when there's so much time poured into manager's (real people with real jobs & Family's) spare time, there should be more limited chance events not more IMO.

I have an update suggestion regarding the race animations, that might be just cosmetic, but would add more realism to the whole race/replay. It's not unusual to see some overtake attempts on the straight line ending like who's attempting the overtake is all the sudden pushing on the brakes. Adding an animation of who is in front protecting actively the position or, maybe, just including those attempts in the corners would make it feel the whole action more real. If someone go out from the tail of another and shows the acceleration to overtake, watching like he someway stops the action it does not make much sense, imho.

A SC is a totally random event.
In that screen you put pit in case of safety car.
So let's put an example
You are leading the race on avery hard overtaking track by a confortable margin and even after a long stop you come out P3 behind 2 guys that will be pitting soon.
Then the next lap just as your opponents are pitting it is declared a Safety Car.
If you were in RL you would of course not pit.
But you have to pit and what seemed to be a confortable win now will be a P3
how good is this for strategy?.
And please don't start with weather since up to certain extent it is predictable a range where rain will start stop.

If you put that on your little pull up box then it will?
Your added box will only generate another random, not only the safety car but also if you decide to pit or not, will alter your tyre and fuel strategy those are the variables that have to be considered.
On real life, it can be refreshing and interesting, and that is because the teams make decisions (That's why i pointed our Racing Point) here you can't do that and you are doomed to the decisions you made hours ago. Not everybody can be present for the race (and it doesn't matter since we watch a "rerun"of a race that was calculated 1.5 hours earlier) so we don't have any inputs to make.
And we still need to hear you pro's for Safety Car
What advantages will it bring
How will it timprove the game
A small idea on how to implement it would be great.
