Welcome to season 5 of the Grand Prix Forum Racing Online game, or as we like to call it - GPFRO :)
Given all the new 'wannabe' games popping up around the forums, i just had to revive this thing and show them how its done ;)
Whether you are new to the game, or an aging veteran, its works like this (i recommend you read all of it, no matter how much experience you have)
1 - There are 18 Race Days in a season, and each Race Day consists of a Sprint Race, and a Feature Race.
2 - The Sprint Race, is where you are given a set time -19:30.00 CET, and its up to you to post 'Finish' as soon as possible after this time, and this race automatically finishes after 10 minutes at which point i will post the results. If you post 'Finish' before the time stated, then you get a False Start and automatically finish last.
3 - The Feature Race, is where i give you a 'Start Window' - 19:45-19:55 CET, and at some point in this window, i will post 'Start *example* GP' in bold letters, and as soon as you see this, you have to post 'Finish', but if you post 'Finish' before i say start, you get Disqualified from the race.
4 - After 10 minutes have passed, i will finish the Feature Race, and post 'Finish *example* GP' and the results.
5 - The Races scores as follows;
1st - 15 Points
2nd - 14 Points
3rd - 13 Points
4th - 12 Points
5th - 11 Points
6th - 10 Points
7th - 9 Points
8th - 8 Points
9th - 7 Points
10th - 6 Points
11th - 5 Points
12th - 4 Points
13th - 3 Points
14th - 2 Points
15th - 1 Point
6 - The Times for the Race Days are set at;
Sprint Races - 19:30.00 CET
Feature Race - 19:45-19:55 CET
7 - After each Race Day, i will post the standings for the Drivers Championship and the Constructors championship, and after every 3 races, i will post the standings for the Averages Championships, both Drivers and Constructors.
8 - For every race you miss, you will lose a point. However, if you PM me to let me know why you will be away, you wont pay a penalty of any sort.
9 - There will be 5 teams, consisting of 3 players (a 6th or 7th team may be added if enough signup) and upon joining the game, each person is given a seeding, and placed into either Group 1,2 or 3, based on their skill in previous season.
10 - Once everyone has been given a seeding, i will use a random number generator to assign each team a driver from Group 1,2 and 3, so all the teams will have a player from one of the skill groups.
11 - Teams may swap drivers during the season, but this must be done within the group seedings so a group 2 driver, cannot switch teams with a group 3 or group 1 driver, and both switching drivers must be ok with it, otherwise i will veto the move. You may move as many times as you want, but your points do not get carried over to your new team. Also, you may not simply leave a team if you do not have anywhere else to go...that will count as quitting the game.
CHASE FOR THE CUP
Chase For the Cup = After the 'Regular Season is over, which is what is detailed above, the Chase For the Cup with begin, and this will be the Top 7 drivers from the regular season competing in further 5 Race Days.
The 5 Race Days will follow immediately on from the Regular Season, and will be composed of the exact same setup as before.
However, there is a twist to how it will work this season - There will be no points awarded during the Chase For The Cup, but each race day, someone will be eliminated. To determine who is eliminated, i will add together the results for that race day, and whoeer has the highest number, will be eliminated from the chase. So, if you finish 1st and 7th, your score is 8 (1+7), which is better than someone coming 4th and 5th and getting 9 (4+5).
After 5 race days, 2 people will be left, and they will compete head to head in 5 feature races, and whoever wins 3 of the 5, is the Champion of the season.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
If you fail to post for 4 Race Days (Sprint + Feature) in a row, then you will be declared inactive and removed from your team as soon as a replacement is found.
If you wish to join our game, the simply post 'Join'.
Also, if you are slightly confused or curious about ANYTHING mentioned above, then please do PM me, or ask here, as there are plenty of players who will be willing to help you out in getting started.
We also have an External Forum, where i post all information from each race, so that everybody can check back over it whenever they want, and you can also talk to your fellow drivers on there, and participate in one of the free betting games, and read old interviews with drivers.

Chris, how about having two "champions". Like say, one would be the normal champion after all 18 rounds, and one as the Chase for the Cup winner. How about it?
