So Tero failed to recruit me because I'm a mason? If the mafia had decided to target him with a regular kill rather than poison that night, would it have appeared to Tero as if he had targeted scum again? Could have lead to an amusing situation if he had accused me like he did with Alan.

Not at all. Your role didn't stop you being recruited at all. He was blocked on night 2 (mafia blocked and poisoned him by targeting Mike and having the bus driver switch Mike and Tero).
