Random is normal thing, every random hurts, but it hurts so much more when you start your trophy hunt because this is the season he was preparing for a long time.

As u said, every random hurts...I just don´t get how that's worse for someonle else compared to me.
I´m sorry to say this, but I have my goals too (today´s race made them harder), and it´s not like I landed here accidentally.

A good season to all (yes I'm late, but each 3th friday of the month I have board-game-night), but I see there are some unlucky ones already. Never good to have such a thing happening.
I was trilled with my Q record on both wet and dry before this race but expected tp be beaten by Jasper today. But lucky for me, I could still pull it off.
The weather went all over the places and there were a lot of options on the table on how to do this race.
Race 2 looks also like something that can go any way, except my way I must admit. My tyres aren't suited for such races.
Looking forward to at least an equal exciting season.

I'm on the Bridgies but I'm aware my package isn't strong enough. My sponsor situation is so that it's this season or not at all so I'm giving it a go anyway. Expect me to go negative and relegate if things don't work out. Next season would be a Pipi relegation regardless.

Imo yours is worse, you lost more money. And I doubt Rafal would have scored points, so he only lost some money, and a little moti.
Anyway, congrats Bert and Jasper! I don't have the speed yet to make it an all Belgian podium :)

Why not? I think Rafal would have finished 7th.
With no disrespect to Bruno, I think the loss of 2 points in a title hunt is definitely way more costly than tyre puncture during non scoring race in any other season.
Funny thing is that my clear track DM in lap 59 costed me 3 points to Roland. Thus I'm not sure which was more costly in this race - Rafal's technical pit or my DM :)
Anyway, I finally get to fight against the very best in the game, hope this will be exciting season. Race 1 definitely was.

He lost about 40s with his random pit. But he finished over a minute behind 7th place. Do you think he lost another 25s by being so far down after his random? I doubt it. (I just looked quickly back at the race and I don't see many laps he was blocked by others)
If I would be mistaken, then yes of course, losing 2 points is far worse than another random.

I agree,..Refel loose some points here...and "little moti" was around 60...not so little imo...definitely big hit on his points and speed in next few races.
Very interesting race so I did some research and this is what I collect:
- Refel had random (one smoking lap), extra pit and one mistake as far as I saw.
- Rimantas had Q2 that I can not explain...random or some BIIIG mistake...we will never know... Beside this, he had 8s mistake in race which is really a lot.
- Roland had zero mistakes with XXX overtaking try's, in lap 33 he was behind 2 drivers and BOTH drivers had mistake on the same corner!
He was 6th at lap 73, and then he overtake 3 drivers in 2 laps! Yes all of them blinked but never the less...Huge luck for him.
What I also dont understand is laps 57-58 - Roland's 2nd and 3rd lap after pit and he was 0.2s faster than Rimantas (both on open track)...same tyres, same fuel and BR tyres have big warming distance so how came Roland was 0.2s is faster than Rimantas?...A LOT worse driver and A LOT weaker car...
The only thing that can explain this is BIG luck for Roland + much much better WPHA than Rimantas
...and with all of these, he barely finished in front of Rimantas so unless this luck continues and Rimantas forget how to hit good WPHA, he dont have much chance imo.

I can say my luck was at it's lowest in Q1 and it's greatest for the final lap. Not sure that's always the optimal way to spend your charms but it worked out on this occasion.

36 tries. I told my driver to be careful in the trains so they were mostly little tries - like getting on the radio trying to get the guy ahead a penalty for cutting corners.

Different tyres, but some truth to your assessment... just other factors too. Hopefully enough factors to make it an interesting season.

I agree, at least that 7th was possible. It's a bit hard to tell because of the temp range and our unknown setups but Rafal was just behind me at his random, with maybe 0.1sec better pace, slower pits and similar strat so we could have run almost together until his energy gave out and then he'd have ended 48 to 55 seconds behind me depending whether we count his lap 59 DM or not.
So it'll be a very costly random if Rafal loses the trophy by only 1-2 points, but we're all going to be trying to make sure that doesn't happen anyway :)

Well... there's a reason why he is the most successful manager in this game :P
However i agree that Rimantas seems stronger atm, we'll see how they manage this season. This is not a fight between 2 contenders i think so we'll see what the others can do despite their bad luck ;)

If you add 48 seconds to your race time you end up with 1:10 behind the race leader, that's outside the points ;).
(Don't forget he also would have wobbled a lot at the end of the race)

I agree but that's a raw estimation, i don't know how much he've lost with traffic. His pace was good, probably same good as Roland and he was just behind him when he got the random
P7 was possible i think, the random just killed him

It puts it within range of other counterfactual differences making up the time (maybe he would have made better overtakes than me, maybe I'd have made better overtakes with his help, maybe his driver would lose less energy, etc). I should rephrase: I don't think 7th was the most likely finish position, just the best one we can't rule out. I don't think he would have wobbled at all.
