I own two, a 2004 Audi A4 and a 2005 Audi A3.

Renault Scenic 2nd hand car.
Simply because it is (almost) the cheapest car that can fit 2 little kids and still has enough trunk space to go on holidays comfortably (including 2 baby beds & carrier). And Renault is also cheap in maintenance. When I bought it I was wainting to go for a brand new Dacia (even cheaper) but then I got offered the Scenic as 2nd hand car.
For me, a car is fine as long as it can carry me and my family to where we want to go and I prefer to spend my money on other things.

There's so many charging stations in the UK, it is viable to get electric cars now lol :D

Here's my recommendation: Don't.
IF you're doing road trips, those wannabe 4x4 SUV's aren't any good either. IF you are travelling on tarmac roads, why not get an STW, that way you'll get the same space (or more) and a car better suited for the road.
You might also get more choice with the same money
SUVs are silly, pointless wannabe 4x4's, not suited for road, not suited for offroad. They are sad compromises :(

I haven't had any problems. Charging at home is really convenient and also cheap. With a split electricity tariff it only costs me about £3.45 to charge the car from zero (which I've never been down to yet) to 100%, which gives me about 300 miles range.

Totally my point of view too. At a certain age, playing twister to drag my 6' frame into a bucket seat loses its appeal.
Our Equinox is tuned pretty well to the road, handles like a car on highway and I know would not perform as well off road, but I dont care.
Handles the snow well enough - not got stuck in it (well did in my older one, but that was due to being an idiot and taking the wrong road)
