I like McLaren, but I hate Mercedes (by default).
I like Ferrari, but I can't stand Massa (he must be by far the worst brasilian driver so far)
So I'll just keep on watching F1 even though it's not that interesting anymore...

Surely you must be forgetting Ricardo Rosset ;)
But I can't blame you, he was so bad that there are not much reasons to remember him.

Wonder how many people in this thread liked RBR back when they were called Jaguar Racing...
As for me: McLaren, with an honourable mention to Minardi. I had a soft spot for Jaguar Racing too, but only because I liked their liveries.

I was and will always be a true Minardi fan at heart. I always root for the underdog and Minardi were the true concept of that. I've followed F1 now for about 11 years, but the first full race I actually watched in its entierity was the 2002 Australlian GP. That will forever go down as one of my favorite motorsports moments of all time. To see Webber do what he did, with the equipment he had, holding off Mika Salo in a factory funded Toyota in front of his home crowd in his very first race I might add was simply awe inspiring. I literally broke down in tears seeing my beloved Minardi score a point and it could have not happened to a more deserving person. Webber drove the hell out of the car that day and truly earned that point. Say what you will but I really consider Paul Stoddard one of my idols in motorsport. He took the team, which was a sinking ship after 2000 and did everything in his power to ensure that the team stayed in F1. Stoddard was the voice for the underdog and had the bollocks to do and say what many would not have simply because of his pride for the Faenza outfit.
When I went to my first F1 race at Indy in 2004, I had the chance to meet Paul in the pits and he was one of the nicest guys I have ever had the chance to talk to. I came in with my Minardi t-shirt and hat on and when I saw him and Zsolt in their garage, I was beeming. I told him how much of a fan I was of the team and what he was doing for the small teams and he told me that he was going do whatever it took to make sure that Minardi continued to survive. Bruni was busy with his race engineer but Zsolt was very humourous, and sarcastically called me an idot for liking Minardi, lmao. He said that "I probably got joked a lot in school for liking the sucky team" lmao. He was really funny and great to be around. I asked him if he had the car to get a point and told me that he would try his hardest despite being last on the time charts. I thanked them for their time and both signed my hat and shirt as I left. The rest is sort of history because he went on to finish 8th and it just felt really ironic that I actually talked to him before the race and he goes out and comes up with a remarkable run. It really meant a lot to me. When the team folded after 2005, I was really heartbroken. I've never quite followed F1 nonstop like I did when Minardi was active but I still continue to watch the weekends whenever I can. I support Sauber now since they were my second behind Minardi and I like Peter Sauber's philosophical approach to racing.

same here.
Minardi hanged on for so long that it was almost incredible... they became the synonyme of a backmarker. Therefore my favorite memory of them is the Friday quali of French GP 2003 (remember? The qualifying determining your order to the proper qualifying - rather useless lol...), it was raining, the top teams were the first to go on the track. Guess what, during the quali the rain stopped and track started drying out, and the two Minardis driven by Wilson & Verstappen, being the last cars on track, were able to use dry tyres and took a 1-2. The absurdness of the moment when I looked at the results was just... ;D
iirc Wilson was later disqualified (underweight?) and Verstappen was the slowest in real quali, but who cares :p

Well, i was a Ferrari fan back in the Schumacher days, but i understood that EVERY team deserves a level of appreciation, even if it's just for surviving in the sport. I am very dissapointed in Williams tough, it looks like Frank had enough of it and just doesn't care too much about the team anymore
