In the 1970's and 1980's there was a person in Mexico that was a sort of philosopher/comedian that created a culture around the fictional PUP or Partido Unico de Pend...s. (Basically the 'Idiots Party')
One of the things he said that if we were to put all of them in a building there would nobody to put the padlock to close the door from the outside.
Also that those that didn't realize they belonged to this select group were two-fold, the first by just simple human naature and the second one was that they were so foolish that they couldn't realize that they were.
So banning them would leave the game empty.

I don’t think it’s a good idea. The only people left would be Cameron, Roland and the guy from Bahrain. Oh and Alain Routhier.

There are a few here who might be referred to by that term but banning them, no. That would be pushing into censorship and totally unfair. We have some basic rules' politics, double accounts and religion (I'm not sure) those are reasons for a ban or censorship.
I would suggest another group would be better suited to be targeted for a ban. Based on experience and historical data... I've been told many times 'Don't you know? You can't fix stupid.' However, that would be discrimination I suppose and someone will be around real soon to tell me I'm wrong... again. lol
I vote for leaving things as they are. The majority of the Gpro community is not normally like the past few days.
It doesn't make for a smiling place to hang your hat and I have to admit that I am responsible for that too. I do apologise for pushing the rubbish around. but it was good fun, anyway. Don't you think? lol

I may the the biggest idiot for hanging out here and not even playing, but I see no good reason why politics is banned and (often politicised) conspiracy shit is not.

How about we give them temporary forum bans. And after 3 or so they get a permanent ban from the game. That would be fair.
Banning someone just for being an idiot isnt the way to go, for multiple reasons. But banning them from the forum is pretty much necessary if you want to cut down on newbies being scared away by the toxicity.
And please just close toxic threads that dont help anyone. That alone would help a lot.

Looking at the second part of his sentence that you forgot to quote ("and (often politicised) conspiracy shit is not.") I would say, he is not questioning why politics is bannend. Rather why conspiracy shit isn't. But here the problems would start. I can more or less easily recognise when it is about politics. But for some ppl some things are conspiration theories and some not. We would need to have a common understanding about that, and that could be quite difficult... :-D
And I still believe btw that ppl just need conspiracy theroies because the truth is sometimes too simple for them... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
