I have just signed a new driver and I think the contract extension may be bugged. I have him for a salary of only $683,984, but to extend him his new salary needs to be $1,725,750 and it is the same for all contract lengths. He does have a slightly higher Reputation then other drivers I have signed at 88, but not that much higher then my last driver.

It may not be a bug, but the fact that re-signing him for 1 race or 17 races is the same amount (the signing bonus is different), and the jump in salary is HUGE, can someone please confirm if this would be correct and not a bug.

Thank You.

It is, indeed, the expected effect of reputation being over a certain level that hits salary that partucular way you've observed. NOT a bug.

certainly a bug
the readjustment would be 12% ($766,062.08)
reputation values the pilot, but it's already in the cost

No, it is NOT a bug. There is a correlation between reputation and salary, though it's hard to observe when reputation is low, as regular salary (with the increments you observed) are higher than the salaries determined by the reputation.

I've been playing since S26 and it already worked this way.

I still don't get it, why would the driver sign on for such a low salary in the first place and then demand ridiculous wages for the extension? Is the correlation different for signing and then extending?

For signing they pick the best offer (if it's only 1, they have no choice if it's above minimum demands)
For extension they ask depending on what they have 'showed' and reputation is dependant on what they have showed.
Since they raced and evolved they always ask more then before, so there is a minimum raise.

One could always wait before the extension is offered. Maybe REP goes down, then again it might go up ...

This is simply to prevent elite players to sit on the top, with making their driver's salary unsustainable. But it works in all classes. It's just makes the need for a new driver, so you can't stay there indefinitly. Annoying but good for everyone who is not in elite. :)

The logic is simple: your driver wins a lot of races, the reputation goes high, your driver's confidence gets big, so big salary to famous person.

Get a new driver.

I think I have annoyed in all classes I have been in.

Personally it has ended several driver contracts and has resulted in me dropping down.

My previous driver had a REP of 51 and needed about a 25% raise for a full 17 races (more for fewer races)

My current driver with a REP of 88 is needing about a 150% raise!!! and it is the same amount for ALL contract lengths.

Something just doesn't seem right.

I think what Flo was trying to explain is that there is a minimum wage after a certain level of reputation, so the % comparison isn't valid as you have a different base

It started on S10 from the announcements

After the long and tiresome waiting we would like to welcome you to Season 10 of GPRO!

As usually there will be two staff decisions before the first race of the season. The first one on Monday and the second one on Thursday followed by the 1st race of the season on Friday 4th of July.

We would also like to remind you that this season a new driver attribute (reputation) has been introduced which will affect the way drivers will accept contract extensions (among other things).

that's not a bug. that was the salary asked by the driver before i left him. Reputation isn't important when the driver has no contract. but for a renewal, reputation is crucial. i had also the same amount for 1 or 17 races. Sorry for your reputation, that's my bad :)
