Getting on fine. Just trying to figure this game out. It has been frustrating but still fun so far.

I’ve had a lot of bad luck so far. Race 1, a driver mistake on the last lap dropped me from 7th to 9th. Race 4, I was in 8th and gaining ground on 7th then had to pit for a random technical issue with 2 laps left and finished 11th. Last race, I ran a 1-stop strategy and had a 41 second pit stop time for my one stop. I finished in 9th, 8 seconds behind 8th. It has been a bit frustrating, but it’s part of the game.
My bigger issue has been finding speed. I have what I believe to be a pretty good driver and my car is level 2 like most of the others, but I am always a lot slower than most of the group. I just did my practice for the next race and am pretty sure that my car setup is close to optimum, but my best practice time on extra soft tires is a second slower than some the top Q1 times that have been posted so far.
So far, I’ve been able to make up for being slower than most of the group with good pit strategies, so I am pretty sure I could consistently finish in the points if I was able to run competitive lap times.

The idea behind speed is actually quite simple... I aint gunna give too much away but think about speed as a person.
Compare someone who is fast and athletic, with someone who is more likely to be slower and non athletic. The athlete will last longer...

Thanks for the tip.
I think my new method of finding the setup helped. My qualifying times for this race are much better. We'll see if it translates to the race.

The trick to Rookie is finding a good balance. Don't go mad updating your car until you HAVE too. I'm not saying let the parts blow up before you change them, but there is no need to change a part that is lower than 60% really. But its up to you to figure out when is the ideal wear limit. BUT, remember that the percentage for car wear is a guideline for when the part could break, a part could break at 5% but it is only a 5% chance, sounds simple, but it can easily be overlooked.
Also, a driver should have a good balance between 3 things, if you want more info, PM me or Ben, we both have a pretty good idea! But I'm not posting lots of tips in the forum. Just in case people don't want to read it!

Your rolling roadblock killed me at the end of today's race Ben. Can't believe I couldn't get past you for 20 straight laps.

Greetings group-mates!
S34 is about to start and tough competition in R311. Risto celebrated 400th GP last season and there are some very experienced ones as well as new promising ones starting their carreer. I am back in GPRO after 2-years break and hope I did not forget all tricks. Ready to prove my abilities with driver from my country among managers from 23 countries and 4 continents.
Petr, best of luck especially to you in your 1st season here. Ať si můžeme poslechnout českou hymnu po některém ze závodů. ;)
See ya on starting grid at Adelaide! =)

i restart this group forum... looking forward having some nice tech talks and start discussions here!
my goal this season: train my driver & and have fun using crazy strategies next season: promote with >40 millions ca$h
e.g. in the next race - I will go with multistopper-on-xsoft even though a 1-stopper-on-meds would be possible... anyway a little lottery with the rain prediction...
if someone is interested: i'm willing to share/exchange data and strategy, have lists, tools & links which can help.
