No but if it starts at lap 9-10 maybe you will have because tyres will completely wear.

Since the probability is so great for rain fall then start with rain Tyres

Well actually no rain start cuz if it there is 5 dry laps your tyres will wear a lot and u can't do with 1 pit so u will have to pit 2 like the others but u lose 30 sec at the beginning:)

I plan on bringing an umbrella and a dry pair of socks to this race.

1. Gersi - Don't feed new people with wrong information. 2. No exact numbers also means no exact ture compount mentioning in public ;)
Nothing wrong with taking a chance and starting on rain tyres here. It could rain in one lap or in ten. Its all part of the fun.
good point, I got my first win from starting on the "wrong" tires.
think I had a win that way too. Game is boring if you always play safe ;) <<<takes no responsibility for players severe loss by following my advice :P

Mainly it depends on your seasons goals. If you're an obvious promotion candidate just follow the safe Road and get your points via the safe route. On the other hand if you're gonna be struggling this season and expect it'll be hard to keep your head above water, take the risk as there is a fair chance it'll pay off.

let's keep it low, right guys? Too many things have been said in here, some of them can mislead new players. The guy asking the question never came back so I assume he is satisfied with the answers given.

if i start the race with rain tyres and is no rain in lap 1 and 2 and the setup for "How many laps until driver ... " is 0 that means that in lap 2 the pilot will enter the pit for changing tyres with dry?
No. Only applies to a weather change.
You will stay on rain tyres until you need to pit for fuel or tyres, or when rain stops, depending how you have that set, but not for rain starting.
Incorrect. "How many laps until driver...." refers to a weather change.
To explain. If you start on DRY tyres and the rain starts on Lap 3 then you will pit for wets on X laps after the rain starts where X is the number that you inserted in "How many laps until driver....". So if you insert 2 laps you will pit 2 laps AFTER the rain starts.
If you start on rain tyres you will keep racing until they wear out or you run out of fuel.

I have a question, I want to do Q2 with rain tyres and start with medium, is it possible?
Just as long as it is mediums that you selected for your dry compound @ Q1 :o
You can choose your starting tyre, dry or wet, in the race setup page.

That's absolute madness! :-)
Not only is it possible, but since the start of the race will be raining then I believe that there's an achievement in it if you can win the race.
No, only if you are on wets when dry at finish or dry when raining at finish.

Quote ( Panto Pantic @ January 7th 2014,18:25:32 ) No, only if you are on wets when dry at finish or dry when raining at finish.
General Achievement : Mr. Whiting (Win one race starting the race with wrong tyres (rain or dry)) :D

But surely somebody in amateur should know this already.
