Why is it that teams must have 6 supporters before the forum is available? Surely it would be better and fairer to say that 60% of members within a team should be supporters? My team has recently lost 3 members leaving us with only 7 but of that seven five of us are supporters (71%) better then a team of 10 with 6 supporters, but our forum is closed meaning we have to either quickly recruit anyone who has supporter or risk even more members leaving due to having no access to a team forum.

Most of the teams that work well, have a forum outside of GPRO. At invisionfree you can get easy configurable forum for free. When ages ago i did lead my own teams, we never used the GPRO forum, I never trusted them, because you cannot control them. Plus when you go on holiday, the person you apoint attending your account has access to the GPROteamforum, and with a forum outside, you have the option of letting that person in on the forum or not. Other advantage is that you can sanction teammembers if they do not post on a regular base by baning them from the forum for 1 2 or more races. You have a means of 'inspiring' a better teamspirit :)

Not true. Holiday does not bring acces to team forum.
Edit: And I dont share your view how to build team spirit.

You can view the forum in holiday mode, you just can't post on it.

All this off site forums and websites is all very nice but I want to know why my team consisting of 71% supporters cannot use our in game forum?

If I thought the team was being adversely affected by someone's inactivity, I'd rather ask them to leave instead of trying to "inspire" them in this manner...

Well the benfits you get of team forum and livery etc have a cost. The admins see 6 supporters as a way for them to make money (To either re-invest to buy a pint) with all the services being a team offer. Along with the additional services for each of the 6 supporters that are non team related.
The 60% rule can be abused and a team of just 3 with 2 supporters can all get thier own form "personal liveries" just not as personal as real ones and team forum instead of joining a team to make 6 supporters. Keep in mind a personal livery costs I think 40Euro and 2 supporters for 3 seasons gives 40.8Euro. Its a long payback for just the livery alone.
Thats how I see it anyway.
This is an example based on the cost of a livery. The same kind of applies to a forum as the forum has a cost just not one I can identify with.

If you seriously think punishment leads to inspiration then, well, it would explain a lot actually.

Having the 60% rule will just be stupid.
TO pay for a personal livery is 50€, but if this rule is put into play, then someone can just make a team for themselves, and get a "team" livery for free....

You have 7 members, just make a donation to one of the non supporters.

Good point. But a single manager is already not treated as a team (he doesn't score team points). The same can be adapted to team livery rule.

Coming back to the Soviet Belgium. In live nothing is free. When i had my teams, the price to pay for the info found on the forum was the obligation to make 2 posts every race (1with setup and tyre and fuel choice, and 1 with the raceanalysis) people joining the team knew in advace that this is/was an obligation and also knew the format to post it in, and they also knew the consequences of not posting. So i see nothing wrong with that. Everybody knew the price to pay, it is a form of respect towards your teammates. I strongly believe in discipline and respect, something that most youngers lack of nowadays, i trully am sorry to say,!!!!!!!!!!!
PS. They also where provided with a spreadsheet, that made it easy to collect and post. Providing you had MSoffice

Tells me why your last team fell apart its a game man, chill :-p
We have three or four guys that work all the hours god sends, if they have a bad week and they were 'punished' for that I think within a week everyone would leave. After telling me where to go, haha!

Failure at a sweeping generalisation there...
The team forum on here is perfectly usable, so why use another one?
My team works perfectly well with the on-site forum, and I can place a bet that at least half the other teams with an on-site forum work well too...
Just because you can't "discipline" people for not posting doesn't mean the team doesn't work well. There's such a thing called real life which can cause people not to post you know?

Just transfer some credits to a team member who has no credits then they will do it in future if you ever need them.
Sorted.

Certainly wouldn't leave mate but tell ya to do one. Lol
I'm pretty shocked by what Luc has said there tbh. Getting disaplinary's for not posting is just outrageous.
Note to self. Never join a team like that.....................EVER.
Edit.
Good point pOn, we probably have one of the best team atmospheres in the game.

Personally, I'd kick people from the team for using more than a single exclamation mark at the end of a sentence. But that is just me..

Ur right mate, I just didn't wanna big us up too much, trying to be modest and as you know I'm very modest.

Ok I understand both sides of here! Yes on-site forums works great, but so do off site forums too! I'm currently a team leader and we use an off site forum, and have it set that team member post data and are active or face consequences! But that is a personal team matter and irrelevant here! The big difference is what level your team is at! A team with all or most rookies that is newer to the game finds it very hard to have 6 supporters and members that are willing and able to help the team progress! IMO top teams that is not as much of an issue, as they have higher level managers!

If you are having to enforce rules to make posting regularly it simply means that your team isnt working.
