Abi was fantastic in the ssn just gone - but the point i was trying to make was that had Ferrari all gone with eg Andrei's strategy, it would have been fatal to them. They split their strategy to ensure that one of them had the best possible chance to win, whatever the weather threw at them...

Yes, TT is correct, we knew that all of us going for the best strategy (which I think was Andrei's before we knew when the rain was going to stop) woud have meant all our eggs in one basket. We knew only one of the three of us would do well, but that one would most likely win the race (and the championship), given we were the three quickset (in the dry qualifying).
It nearly didn't work because Tim got his traditional slow start, and was held up a lot in that first stint. Both Tim and Andrei had better dry set up than me, but I gained loads of time becaue I got a (lucky) good start.
There is a lot more to the races than just raw pace!

I did have three big driver mistakes... Costing me 10 seconds each...
Maybe I would have won the title? :D

By the way, did I already mention Im gonna make my time as Paul Pietsch last as long as I can?
If possible until 2011!
Oh and Jon, a basic question - What do you do with people, who take drivers with gap years? E.g. Michael Schumacher 1991-2006 and 2010-x or Nigel Mansell back in the 90s?

Yes, Driver Champions(and from 1958 on team Champions as well) will compete the year after to defend their title, regardless whether they competed in real F1 or did not. That goes until they dont win the championship again.
So while the real Paul Pietsch competed from 1950 to 1952, my Paul Pietsch will at least compete until 1953 as I won the 1952 championship. If I win it again next year, Pietsch will be here 1954 too, if not I will have to choose a new driver.

They will stop being available, presuming they don't win that title. That's a LONG way down the road though!

I think I asked before but I've forgotten so I'm going to ask again. Are we allowed to do more than 1 lap at a time in quali? Like this:
