Just leave it alone for cryin' out loud. Get some stability. If it's not the points, it's the Qualifying, or Slicks/no slicks, or 1 or 2 tyre manufacturers, or wings, or engine capacity, or fueling ....
the list goes on..
A few changes ocassionally is expected and welcome, but Bernie and his cronies have gone nuts.
besides, if they want to screw with points there are better systems around.

May as well just use the old CART scoring system that awarded points to 12 positions. This new scoring system seems stupid for F1 to use. If anything they should stop giving out points to people that are simply middle of the pack.
I would rather see F-1 go to the old 10-6-4-3-2-1 system than this silliness. They want to reward winning more? This doesnt do it, it rewards mediocrity with undeserved points.

Half points because of the shortened race in Malaysia. Top six the same, little difference in when drivers are mathematically out the championship.

How often do other sports change their points systems?
Hey let's make the penalty kick in Soccer worth 1 point, a score from a corner or free kick 2 points, and a regular goal from general play 3 points LOL.. Stupid yes.
But we tolerate it in Motorsport(F1)

I think this point system is a bit too much. They shud make it like 20, 15, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. 25 is too much. But i guess i am quite fine with or without it, so, yeah. They're done, so no matter how much you say, it's finalised.

Awarding points to more drivers will increase the visibility of the backrunners, because TV will now spread it's attention to the top-10 (or even more if there's a fight for 10th). This will increase sponsor interest in mediocre teams, hence increasing the money available in F1, hance feeding Bernie's wallet.

I finally had a chance to read this properly (the article) and to be honest this is just becoming more and more annoying, awarding points to the top 10 just makes it so much easier for teams to score points now, i missed the days of only points to the top 6 drivers, back when there was like 30 cars battling it out for those points, that made for some real racing right there. Also this doesn't help bernie as he pays the teams for every point scored in the F1 championship. So he is just making it harder on himself.
We has the medals offer last season and i hated that too, the origional points gave the championship to consistancy, NOT WINS! It doesn't matter if you win 1 race, as long as you stay consistant in the championship, thats a true derserving champion right there!
The back runners are meant to go gun-ho to get those points, as we saw with force india this season, they took advantage of the track downforce and scored points, it's about awarding stratagy.
I might sound like a moaning lil child, but i see the NASCAR, Indycar, Moto Gp and A1 scorings and they never make sense to me, F1 always had a sensible scoring of 10,6,4,3,2,1 and 10,8,6,5,4,3,2,1. This is just getting out of hand, if there becomes more of this stupid antics with bernie i might just give up F1 in general. I always liked the battles in GP2 and F3 more. Qualifying is more interesting in F1.

Its just going to make life so much easier for drivers :/

GPRO is only based on open wheeled racing it is not a carbon copy.. I have lost count the amount of times i have seen these things in the forums.. Just cos it will effect F1 does not mean it will effect GPRO why should it?
I like the idea of making the drivers go for it more and having a bigger difference between positions.

I think maybe 15-12-10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 should be a considered way. This new proposed scheme of 25 for a winner is too much, and some records will be more easily broken. On the other hand, Michael Schumacher wouldn't hold most of the records anymore...
