Hi!
The policy requires a real name from users. This is contrary to the laws of several states. In order to protect personal data, this rule should be changed where possible (I think). Further improvements would be needed, but they are related to the operation of the game. For example, the confirmation link doesn't work (to say just one).

You'll be surprised it is mostly the other way around. (Just ask Facebook and Google).
If I would identify myself as Lewis Hamilton, with an English flag and even using his birthdate (which is public knowledge) I could well be sued by him.

The only data you need to join the game is your name and an e-mail address no other personal data is needed as you can see many profiles don't even show gender, marital status or birthdate,and your e-mail address is hidden as you already know.
Worried about your e-mail address? Create one specifically for this game and thus nobody can use your commonly used e-mail address.

GDPR, what OP seems to refer to never was and never will be about the registering or even record keeping of personal information (which is NOT equal to personal data, or personal identifiable information). If it was, it would mean a complete business stand still for most companies dealing with EU customer or even applicants. However it is about the protection and processing of that data (and I admit then it becomes vague as one could expect from EU... )
What OP suggests is that something ordered on Amazon by an EU customer could no longer be delivered or even something as simple as a restaurant reservation would become complex. This is NOT the case and if it was even near that, markets would have collapsed prior to introduction in full. We all know that didn't happen so it is a completely wrong assumption by the OP.
A very simple explanation, but GDPR can't really be explained untill we see the effects and moreover the fines..
As for GPRO; Database wise I don't know... 'Front office' most if not all is fine but I doubt the indexing of manager profiles... Just search my name in google and me playing GPRO is among top 5-10, hence indentified as a member...
