GAME RULES

I. Recruitment Rules

1. Every player is obliged to read the rules posted here and follow them.
2. You can only join this game by sending me a PM containing a confirmation that you read the rules and that you agree to follow them. (No exceptions!)
3. I am reserving a right to reject a player if I will decide that his/her presence in the game could greatly lower the game experience for other players or if his/her presence could endanger my sanity.

II. Inactivity and Replacement Rules

1. Players killed in the game will not be able to enter the game again as a replacement.
2. Replacements will not be possible during any period of game and players will be modkilled instead.
3. Player who will force me to modkill him, will be blacklisted for one or more games.
4. Inactivity is not allowed in this game. Every player is obliged to post at least 2 times every day, excluding weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
5. Players who will fail to post at least 2 times every day, will be punished.
6. Punishment may be issued in public or in private. In case of private punishment, player is not allowed to reveal the nature of a punishment.
7. “Sorry for not being here, I will catch up later this evening” posts, may or may not be counted into the 2 posts per day limit, and the decision belongs only to me.

III. Gameplay rules

1. Players are allowed to vote in every format they choose, as long as vote will be put in a separate line and bolded.
2. Votes that are not a in separate line or/and are not bolded, will not be counted.
3. Voting in this game is mandatory. Players who will be avoiding voting, may face the penalty.
4. Player with the most votes at the deadline will be lynched.
5. In case of the tie a coin toss will decide who will be lynched.
6. Voting for yourself is not only invalid but also forbidden and may be punished.
7. You are not allowed to inform other players how you have been punished. If you will post that in the thread you will be modkilled and blacklisted for one or more games.
8. If I will see that you are trying to break a game, or play against the "spirit of the game", you and every other player that represents the same alignment as you, will be punished.
9. Decision what is against the spirit of the game belongs to me. If you have doubts if something is allowed or not, don't do it or ask first in PM.
10. Dead players cannot talk at all. Zombie posts are forbidden. Once you died you have to wait for the end of the game to say anything. Breaking this rule may result in blacklist for one or more games.
11. There will be no twilight in this game.
12. You will be given a deadline to send or change your night actions, however if I will have everything I need, I may end the night before deadline.
13. You are not allowed to edit your post in any situation.
14. You are not allowed to swear during the game, however minor/soft insults like: moron and idiot are allowed.
15. Quoting role PM is not allowed.
16. You are not allowed to communicate outside of a thread, unless your Role PM specifically says that you can.
17. Failure to send a Night Action may result in your action being performed on a random person AND you receiving a punishment. Unless you are specifically informed otherwise, you MUST carry out your night action every night.

IV. Additional Game Informations

1. Roles in this game are assigned randomly.
2. Roles will be a combination of traditional roles, such as cop & doc, together with some more wacky variations and weird ideas that I have stolen or thought of. Do not expect roles to come with a simple one word title like Cop or Bulletproof. Not all roles will therefore be found in the website below.
3. No two role PMs will be the same, that will apply even if you are a vanilla townie. This will also apply to win conditions. I do not want to see people asking what others win conditions are, or what the 3rd letter of the 5th word of your role PM states.
4. Role PM will take a rough format of : firstly a brief piece of back story about yourself, but nothing too deep or important, then instructions for any night actions, finally your win condition.
5. Basic mafia information can be found here: http://mikeburnfire.sitesled.com/mscumB.swf

Introduction

The building was large, mostly white, and formidable looking. But then such institutions usually are. But this building was so much more, this was the highest classification of patients anywhere in the world, and this wasn't just about people who had had a breakdown, this was serious stuff. Nobody knew for certain, at least in the outside world, but it was claimed that this was the mental equivelent of Area 51, where things that shouldn't be possible could happen, and needed to be managed, and managed properly.

Here, names were not important, you were either a member of the staff, or you were a 'patient', unless of course you thought you were a member of the staff, but were not really so. But things were changing, although as these things always did, it took a while for people to realise. A patient dies in a strange accident here, a patient has a heart attack there, a member of staff suddenly doesnt appear at work anymore, and finally, after several deaths & disappearances people start to realise something is wrong.

The chief warden, or psychiatrist, or whatever he called himself, is found dead, in his chair. A note scrawled by his own hand, in his own blood is found that simply reads "Its our time now".

What can it mean, and can anyone stop whoever it is that is doing these things.

Just to confirm for everyone.

There are no Character names at all :)

and no direct role names, although some of you will probably recognise that your abilities are similar to known roles :)

The institution was in lock down, nobody was getting in, and nobody was getting out. The doors will not be opened again until either the evil menace has been removed, or there is no one left apart from the menace. And for the sake of the world outside, the majority were hoping that the evil would be quashed.

Day 1 can now start

With 20 alive, it will normally require 11 votes for an instalynch.

There is currently no deadline in place.

Note that with two Johns playing, it is necessary for you to specify either John I, or John W when you vote.

Word "normally" bothers me. I guess there is some kind of twist and under some circumstances more or less than 11 votes is required for insta.

Anyway, I have been told that men with gun could be very dangerous behind closed doors. Therefore, there is only one logical solution:

I never said I was a newbie but Bassett isn´t a well known manager to me. And he hasn´t said a single word in this game so he must have got some enemies from earlier games or something.

Bassett is a different issue. My comment was about you pointing out that you had a long break in your first post, therefore already making ground and an excuse for possible slips.

Well...he looks a little bit young...but...okay.

It´s hard to get a feeling about who is scum and who isnot at this early stage of the game, so I guess it´s a good strategy to provocate people to talk in the beginning.

So many new people! Presumably you have been learning all the small things about mafia in the recent games like what represents good town play, when to put people under pressure, etc. Hopefully something good will come from that process and this will be a nice smooth experience.

Any tendancies apparent from those games? Any obvious idiots, and surprisingly intuitive people?

Anything that can help me out at this stage would be appreciated since it's so long since I played!

Do you usually go check other games after claiming scum? :P

Can I also add that Riley also admitted he's scum, by not denying it and merely pointing out that the need to vote Daniel is bigger than the need to have an early scum bandwagon. Ergo the need for scum bandwagon also exists, just personal matters are more important for him at the moment.

Can I also ask if my jokes are bad or are you lot just overreacting?

It's Daniel Bassett.
no explanation needed, as i said he is 8.
if he is scum he will slip. but i know from previous games he can be an east target for scums. because of
A his age
B his stupidness.
