Old post #1 posted Apr 5th 2010, 14:40:19 (last edited Apr 5th 2010, 20:07:41 by Iain Bartholomew) Quote
Life in Littlemill carried on much as it has this past age. People came, people went, nobody spent much time there and nobody moved there. The people who lived in Littlemill were the people who were born in Littlemill. This was how it had always been and how it was expected to be for all time to come.

Littlemill was to be found on the fringes of a deep, dark forest. Though not entirely cut off from civilisation, it remained largely isolated. There was no destination which required a traveller to pass through this part of the world. This was precisely how the villagers liked it. There was no industry in Littlemill, nor any commercial presence. The local farmers produced what food was required, the local seamstress made clothes and the local school was staffed by local teachers.

The people of Littlemill did not feel in any way disadvantaged by this state of affairs. On the contrary, they revelled in their community. There was no crime in Littlemill, no pollution and barely any disharmony. That was until recent events occurred, casting a pall over the village.

It began when the youngest of the Brown family was found dead in the forest, apparently killed by an animal. His father and older brother were next to go, killed in the same way as they hunted the beast that took their baby away. In her grief the Brown widow walked into the forest the next night and was similarly found mauled to death.

A village meeting was called and it was decided that groups of villagers would patrol at night, trying to identify and kill the animal. The first night’s reports were as shocking as they were vivid. Dogs that walked as though men, hunting in a pack and disappearing without a trace. It was the village elder who alone remembered the last werewolf attacks, some eighty years previously. That time the village had survived, but when the beasts walk in daylight they seem as though human. There were no new faces in Littlemill, it was clear that the horror came from within. Whether the village would be so fortunate eighty years on would rest on the decisions taken by these people at this time.

GAME RULES

I. Recruitment Rules

Recruitment is complete

II. Inactivity and Replacement Rules

1. Players killed in the game will not be able to enter the game again as a replacement.
2. Replacements may be possible during the game although players will be modkilled instead if no replacements are available or at GMs discretion.
3. Players who force me to modkill them will be blacklisted for one or more games.
4. Inactivity is not allowed in this game. Every player is obliged to post at least 2 times every day, excluding weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
5. Players who will fail to post at least 2 times every day, will be punished.
6. Punishment may be issued in public or in private. In case of private punishment, player is not allowed to reveal the nature of a punishment.
7. “Sorry for not being here, I will catch up later this evening” posts, may or may not be counted into the 2 posts per day limit, and the decision belongs only to me.

III. Gameplay rules

1. Players are allowed to vote in every format they choose, as long as vote is put in a separate line and bolded.
2. Votes that are not a in separate line or/and are not bolded or are spelled incorrectly will not be counted.
3. Voting in this game is mandatory. Players who avoid voting may face the penalty.
4. Player with the most votes at the deadline will be lynched.
5. In case of the tie a coin toss will decide who will be lynched.
6. Voting for yourself is not only invalid but also forbidden and may be punished.
7. You are not allowed to inform other players how you have been punished. If you will post that in the thread you will be modkilled and blacklisted for one or more games.
8. If I will see that you are trying to break a game, or play against the "spirit of the game", you and every other player that represents the same alignment as you, will be punished.
9. Decision what is against the spirit of the game belongs to me. If you have doubts if something is allowed or not, don't do it or ask first in PM.
10. Dead players cannot talk at all. Zombie posts are forbidden. Once you died you have to wait for the end of the game to say anything. Breaking this rule may result in blacklist for one or more games.
11. There will be no twilight in this game.
12. You will be given a deadline to send or change your night actions, however if I will have everything I need, I may end the night before deadline.
13. You are not allowed to edit your post in any situation.
14. You are not allowed to swear during the game, however minor/soft insults like: moron and idiot are allowed.
15. Quoting role PM is not allowed.
16. You are not allowed to communicate outside of the thread, unless your Role PM specifically says that you can.
17. Failure to send a Night Action may result in your action being performed on a random person AND you receiving a punishment. Unless you are specifically informed otherwise, you MUST carry out your night action every night.

IV. Additional Game Informations

1. Roles in this game are assigned randomly.
2. Roles will be a combination of traditional roles, such as cop & doc, together with some less familiar ideas that I have stolen or thought of. Not all roles will therefore be found in the website below.
3. No two role PMs will be the same, that will apply even if you are a vanilla townie. This will also apply to win conditions. I do not want to see people asking what others win conditions are, or what the 3rd letter of the 5th word of your role PM states.
4. Role PM will take a rough format of : firstly a brief piece of back story about yourself, but nothing too deep or important, then instructions for any night actions, finally your win condition.
5. Basic mafia information can be found here: http://mikeburnfire.sitesled.com/mscumB.swf All new players are STRONGLY advised to read this site thoroughly. It won't take too long.

Day broke in the village of Littlemill, the long night over at last. The village had suffered another night of torment and the Werewolf pack remained at large. One pack of hunters returned with reports of another presence in the forest, but just what it had been they could not be sure. What was for certain was that the threat to Littlemill had never been greater. Could the villagers unite to put an end to the threat, or would they soon become but a footnote in history?

Day 1 begins. No deadline yet.
