Recruitment Rules:
1. Every player is obliged to read the rules posted here and follow them.
2. Mafia is a game that requires a fair amount of time and commitment. Do not join if you are not prepared to sign in and contribute regularly to the game, over a reasonable period of time.
3. You can only join this game by sending me a PM containing a confirmation that you read the rules and that you agree to follow them. No exceptions.
4. New Mafia players are welcome, just add a line to your application PM to show that you understand the game and will be able to play it. If this is difficult or daunting, perhaps you are not ready for mafia yet.
5. I reserve the right to reject a player if I decide that his/her presence in the game could greatly lower the game experience for other players, or if his/her presence could endanger my sanity
General Gameplay Rules:
1. Votes need to be placed in a separate line and bolded.
2. Votes that are not in separate line and/or not bolded, will not be counted.
3. Change of vote needs to be preceded by unvoting. If you change a vote without unvoting, the vote will not count.
4. Dead players cannot talk at all. The only exception is if a player’s family dies, the player asks for modkill, and accepts the condolences of his/her fellow players (see Jun Ho from the “Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Game) or the like. Zombie posts are forbidden. Once you have died you have to wait for the end of the game to say anything. If you are not playing in this game, please do not post in this thread until the game has ended. Breaking this rule will result in your name being placed on a suspension list, banning you from play in the near future. This is to keep the spirit of the game.
5. There will be no twilight in this game. Only day and night phases will be used.
6. You are not allowed to edit your post in any situation. Only the mod may edit posts in case of juniorism or other similar situation. You may not ask to have a mod edit a post in any. This is to avoid unnecessary confusion so that we don’t have a big mess like in the “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” game.
7. The rules of the GPRO forum dont apply with regard to swearing. no using the "F" or "C" words but others will be tolerated.
8. Replacement of inactive players by dead players will not happen as it is against the spirit of the game.
9.Role PM's should not be repeated.
10. Voting for “no lynch” is allowed only because stupid people keep joining whilst going away.
11. Unless specified in your role PM, no communication about the game with other players is allowed outside of this thread.
12. Using out-of-game site mechanics to make in-game arguments is not allowable and may result in punishment or modkills. You may say “X hasn’t been online all day so maybe we should wait for him to post before we hammer him,” or “Y is online, please respond.” You may not say “X and Y have been sending PM’s just after the lynch occurred and so are scum” (because 99% of the time, the PMs don’t have anything to do with the game). You get the point. If you don’t get the point, just don’t do anything even remotely of the sort.
13. If I see that you are trying to “break” the game, or play against the spirit of the game, you will be punished, and every other player that represents the same alignment as you may or may not receive a punishment. All people involved in a scheme to break the game will be put up for modkill consideration.
14. While the game is based mostly on a fairly standard mafia setup and roles, some twisting and unusual roles may be will be included.
15. There will only be regular, “hard” deadlines in this game (unlike in the “Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy” game). This makes it easier on my part. The guidelines for the deadline are as follows:
i. All players will be required to have a vote in place at the deadline.
ii. Players with no vote in place at the deadline will be modkilled.
iii. If there is a tie, the lynch will be randomly decided between all players in the tie, as well as the player whose vote or unvote created the tie.
Additional Game Info:
1) Roles have been assigned to players randomly.
2) Players who do not commit to the game will be modkilled. The definition of commitment is keeping regular contact with the thread (at least 1 productive post in 48 hours, no “I am sorry that I’ve been missing and will try to catch up with the game later” or the like). Also, players are required to have a vote at the deadline,
3) I will try to keep the game running as fast as possible. It makes for a better game. If you have a night action, please take enough pride to send me default orders before the night comes so you do not forget to send them at a later time. If you wish to change your decision, then PM both Jun and me so that we both know what you are doing and the game can resume as fast as possible. Please try to limit the number of changes you make. If no default orders are in place and no PM received by night action deadline, night actions will be randomly performed.
4) Win conditions are listed in each role PM.
