@Andrei: Yes, André Silva is way better than Eder. Still has a got to learn but Im glad to have such a player in my FC Porto. He will certainly be our forward in next world cup. If you YouTube him check his performance against Sporting Braga in Portugal cup finals. We lost the match om penalties but he stood out. Its not everyday you see a forward like him at his age.

@Guillaume: dont be mean, a true champions beats his opponents at their max.

Giroud, mediocre, despite scoring a few goals. Didn't do much else.
What championship have you been watching, may I ask? Griezmann has so much space precisely because Giroud is playing in front of him, to call him mediocre is ridiculous. To prove my point just look at their goals from playoffs.

1st goal against Ireland: Sagna crosses the ball to the box, Giroud takes central defenders with him and Griezmann playing behind him scores a pretty much free header.

2nd goal against Ireland: Giroud receives a cross from deep downfield, gathers both central defenders and heads the ball to Griezmann, who is left completely alone.

1st goal against Iceland: Giroud scores
2nd one admittedly has nothing to do with Giroud, but
3rd goal against Iceland: Somebody receives the ball in the box with the central defenders on him, heads it back to Griezmann, who sets up Payet for a goal. Yes, that somebody is Giroud again.
4th goal is just pure class from Giroud setting up Griezmann for easy goal.
5th goal: Giroud scores again.

Goals against Germany came purely cause of their childish mistakes.

I do think Giroud is so efficient because he has someone like Griezmann behind him, who is probably one of the best players in the world right now, but to see what Giroud is doing for France and call him mediocre is laughable.
Quote ( Andrei Ciuchi @ July 9th 2016,05:01:55 )

Precisely because he's slow. I would've played Griezmann upfront instead of him.

Last days french media and french fans seam to be in that mood. Just hope Deschamps and his players to be with same thoughts and start the game thinking they have already one hand in the cup :o)

Deschamps is not one to make this kind of mistake. Maybe some fans and commentators (and not only french ones) are really underestimating Portugal because they didn't convince in their games so far, but a team that reached the final by a way or another is to be considered dangerous.

Don't count on Deschamps to make the mistake to underestimate Portugal.

If Rothen was the coach...yeah I would be scared that would possibly happen.

But now, please don't be so uptight on every critisism, every team had their fair amount of critism, starting by France. At the end, the field is what gives final answer. Not the comments.

Good luck to both team, with of course a bit more luck for France :)

very good comment by Lukas, by the way.

But let people feel free to understimate Giroud...and they will see. :)
IMO, he is far more useful than Benzema. (i'm not saying better, i'm saying useful)

And the duo Giroud-Griezmann can work well because their profiles complete each other
The duo Benzema-Griezmann would be showy but inefficient

I think that the key of this match will be the day shape of the best player ! Ronaldo for Portugal, and Griezmann for France !!!
The best of both of them will give the final win !!!
We have seen that with Boateng during the semi-final ! The Mannschaft was bad without just 2 gamers !!! And worse when Boateng got hurt

The first team to make a mistake looses. If it goes to penalties its a matter of luck but it also means there is no clear better team (which in our case, being the underdogs, its great).

Marking will be tight, risks will be low. Cristiano is easily markable but if he does get some space its all it takes to score so I think it will be a very nervous match for French defence aswell.

Being in the finals is already a great achievment but I obviously wont settle with 2nd place. But I do recognize that France (and Germany) are the only teams capable of beating us right now. As far as the finals go, its 50/50 chance and I cant wait for it.

The same for me, I can't wait !!!
Tomorrow it will be a big night ! Champion or second, great Euro 2016 for the two nations.
Ronaldo is a big big danger, more than someone else, and the team will be hot !
But we play at home, and Griezmann is at the top !
I think there will be a lot of goals

Still not able to accept criticism of how Portugal have played? Shame really. They've found a way to not get beat. Nobody else likes it, but what do you expect? Take it as a compliment; you're shit, but you're still in it.

I would actually like to see a 2-3 / 3-2 kind of match (90 minutes).

It can happen, we'll see if I'll be satisfied :o)

And then after all this matches ending in extra-time / penalties, don't think that the final will be one of them too.

The English are so sensitive.
Of course, if you are going to quote me, quote me in my entirety. Nothing like omitting context in order to support ones own case...

I wanted to see England vs Wales in the final. The idea that we blindly hate you guys is just utter paranoia on your part. Sure, we'd like to beat you at every opportunity, but it isn't out of hate I can assure you. Why a nation would lack such self-confidence that it thinks that everyone hates it, well that eludes me. We don't like the arrogance. No more.

As for the rugby, our national sport...we'll happily admit when we've been beaten by a better team, even when that all too often is England.
