Just looked and East Cambridgeshire is actually one of the best places to go in terms of COVID right now...so I'm tempted to say to go there! Let's see if anyone else UK-based is interested and work out what is most central eh? :)

We have hardly got any cases, so we are really lenient on everything haha.

I dont mind doing it here, as I will know exactly where to go for it :D

But yeah, we will see where people want to meet because the Scots would need to travel 8 hours if they wanna come to Cambridge :D

Im sorry i havent been around to answer all these posts. I was the weekend away from home and busy with season restarts hehe.

So apologies to Steffan and all the rest people here.

So, im totally agree about postponing the meeting, right now the situation doesnt look good, despite Catalonia is dealing a lot better than initial months of the pandemic we have still prohibitions to reunite more than 10 people. That without checking possible quarantines by traveling from other countries on your way back...

Lets see how all this goes in the future for the next year and lets hope we can celebrare the meeting next fall in Barcelona.

As plans are today I'll go to Barcelona, but things might change over the next 30 days.
We've cancelled all our group activities in Barcelona and instead focus on individual activities.

Totally understandable to cancel the meeting this year, it's the right thing to do.
And a small advice for upcoming meetings or gatherings in the footprints of Corona, try booking refundable rooms at the destination (flight tickets usually to expensive to have full flex).
At hotels.com most hotels offer free cancellation up until days before the visit and usually just cost very little extra (if any extra at all).

We'll most likely have to deal with Corona stuff for at least 1 more year until things might be going black to somewhat normal.

Y'all can come to Perth. I know it's a long way away but we don't have any covid restrictions right now ;D

Definitely sure it will never happen, but I'm just saying this place has great beaches, women, pubs and other crazy stuff!

One can only dream...

Maybe for GPRO's 20th anniversary? :)

I would love to go to Australia. But flights and accommodation will be short of a deposit to a house here haha. Maybe when I earn a bit more money than now :)

I don't have mod rights to this thread...so would need a mod to either change the title to:

GPRO Meeting 2021 - Barcelona (Date TBD)

Or give me the rights to do so...mods; your call either way! ;)

We should try and start to collect names again as well as seeing who would like to share accommodations to try and reduce the cost of the trips.

Obviously we won't know dates yet but at least we can try and prepare and people can save up etc.

Just a fleeting thought. With next year's GPRO Meeting, are we planning on doing it during the summer, or doing it the same time as we originally planned for this year (Sept/Oct)?

I am doing my massive yearly plan, and would like to join the general timeframe :)

Hello everyone.

The Facebook page for Brits has been revived, but we were just wondering if Barcelona was still the location that we are meeting at the end of October? Can either @Stefan Voggenreither (R4) or @Vladimir Alexandrov (R3) confirm please? Once confirmed, we can finally start to book and do itinerary :)

8th-10th October (Japanese GP)
22nd-24th October (US GP)
29th-31st October (Mexican GP)

?

Kudos for your optimism gents!

I genuinely can't see holidays abroad happening for a long time yet, well unless they come up with some sort of vaccination passport injection microchip.

Saying that, a GPRO holiday might be the only thing to tempt me to get one.

I am going to attend one of these in the future for sure. Right now it just isn't possible unfortunately. I don't wanna give my sob story out (I already did one of those before, somewhat embarrassingly) cos i'm sure there's people who've been hit more worse than I have in this pandemic, but when you're on your own its a lot more challenging than two people living together and I'm basically living off beans on toast at the moment so having a nice time is way over the horizon. :/

You could always attend the GPRO meeting in the UK :)

We hope to run one in July :)

Hope you are good!

Cool - later the better I think makes sense to try and give ourselves the best chance of being able to travel to it...?
