Rosberg won only by the fatality occurred with Villeneuve and the serious accident suffered by Pironi.

Where is Kimi,Alonso,Button,Hamilton?

thumbs up, if you voted to Miachel or Ayrton!

I can only remember 1 sport where definetly there was a top player of all times and no one else, Basketball and Mr Michael Jordan. As for F1 is like soccer, saying that Péle is the best... some will say Maradona etc etc.. So for me these are SOME of best in their respective times but imo we cant compare them as F1 has evolved so much throughout time that it just wouldnt be fair.

Can't be anyone other than senna. the early days in the toleman where he had pretty much the worst car but come 2nd and another lap and he would have won.

I'm afraid Fangio was the most impressive of all if you consider the time and age he started in F1, i can almost say it's impossible to win at his age.

... 10 more laps and Stefan Bellof in his Tyrrell would have overtaken both Prost and Senna.
You can google his name to realize why he didn't become 3x f1 champion ...

nah, actually (partly thanks to the little duel in Europe which sort of delayed one generation's development) most racing drivers were very old, Fangio wasn't even near the oldest drivers.
imo there's no definitive answer, all drivers listed have their strengths and weaknesses, tough to define the 'best' overall driver wehn some excelled in circumstance 1, others in circumstance 2

i think schumacher and senna are the best champions ever...but....if we would organize tomorrow a race with 10 same english red busses .... i think there is no question who would win this race..: AYRTON SENNA
|
|

I think Ayrton Senna is the greates F1 champion

Another good example...I feel like Senna could/would win a GP in a car from HRT.

Maybe if it was 20 years ago but Senna isn't race fit at the moment.
btw it would be a Jim Clark win.

Fernando who? if the poll had 20 names on it he would not be one of them.

Have they become bus drivers since they lost their F1 seats?

Have they become bus drivers since they lost their F1 seats? no, Tuero won something a couple of years ago, I think it was Turismo Nacional, but I'm not sure as I don't follow it, Ide became taxi driver, but lost his license after crashing to a tree
8 of us (including me) misclicked, tried to click Senna but the mouse moved and clicked Piquet

New generation champs just can't be best imho.

I think Délétraz and Inoue are the true legends of F1.

a ayrton senna could drive a red bull from last year to a win with i guess two or three testdays....sebastian vettel would just get killed in a mclaren from1989 just trying !! thats it. but ok if u ask me (i see f1 races from 1987) michael schumacher is the completest driver in new era...he works 80% between the races and just 20% is driving, and with this 20% he won 7 titles ;)

|
|
Fangio he did it when people were dieing ! and Schumacher was good but i do not rate im by crashing into drivers to win !!

Well, anyone can say Schumi, Senna, Villeneuve or Hamilton are the fastest but it depends also how much they can push. They were fast in terms of pure speed and as long as the engine/tyres/suspension never breaks (and they don't die hitting a wall or run out of fuel), then they are fine but not sure they can survive challenging championships where everything counts.
And history shows they were not so good at that.
Now, winning all races like Schumi, Senna and Vettel did with the best car is really not a good way to rate them.

sure u are right jack ,but senna did also in suzuka with prost...i think everyone who has started in races even kartraces like me knows that the pressure is very tough and many things are going around in your mind how to win this thing u have always a plan a,b and the worst C.even if plan c comes out in the situation itself. @ roni yes sure but tell me who can make out of a truck(ferrari 1996) a winner car and who can win every race in the season?thats the question...senna could...prost could...we will see if vettel can and schumacher already improved 3 times he can... benetton 1992,ferrari 1996 and now mercedes (ok he didnt won but he will get podiums with it this season i'm sure)....so its not the question who is the best driver but in which categorie and what era it is not easy to find an answer even for me and i have seen now every f1 race since 1987-25years, i am gilles27 fan.

Yes Kostas, that's a good point and that's what i hope to see nowadays... Great drivers turning middle field cars into a winning car.
