its a pointless feature unless it displays who liked your post. atleast then you can see who likes or dislikes it. why should someone be able to hide behind the veil of an orange thumb? they should bin the feature in its current form imo

Totally agree, might restart my 'get rid of the thumbs down' campaign once a month until people power wins through :-p
Cue my thumbs down record... :-p

yeah just get rid of it, i mean its effectively taking an element of debate away from the forum. if people disagree with a post then they can either say nothing or post their disagreement, rather than click a stupid orange button. atleast that way you know where you stand and can argue about it :p

The like/dislike feature has some uses. For instance, the popularity of a suggestion can be gauged by the amount of likes.

Fail.. Too many sad losers around that will dislike shit for no reason whatsoever. Why GPRO ever gave them that power I will never know. I get the sense they just want to be stubborn now and not give in to the community.
Fb did away with it for a reason....Because Zuckerberg is intelligent and relates to his subjects

Love this and also sums up why this feature should be scratched. They are just being too stubborn. I actually think the mods Gordan, Hans and Marcelo most likely dont even like the feature themselves. It gets abused and how they didnt expect that in the first place is beyond me.
Opps double post send me to Azkaban

Good suggestion. It would also deter those of us that like our own posts

lol didn't you get the memo? ;)
1- There are no "bugs", mistakes, bad design, bad choices, or anything generaly wrong in this game, it is all features! 2- The game, is never wrong, it is you are wrong for not liking the thumbs idea, it is not the game that is wrong for having a bad feature...
And there is nothing that you will be able to do about it. :P
And please, give me at least 10 down votes, so I wont be left out on the average of this thread!

There are some ways to get thumbs down... one of those is mention ´thumbs down` on your post, :P
EDIT: Who thumbed me up? Thumbs down, now, :)

I wonder if I should thumbs down my post. Yes, I think I should. I think everyone should.

I love this post. And I think it should be augmented. There should be a permanent thread built just around this topic or even a novel written about it. You know, something along the lines of GPRO forum being a society resembling the univers of George Orwell's 1984!

I dislike most of my own posts just to demonstrate what I think of the rating system. If it were just thumbs-up I'd likely be fine with it, but having a thumbs-down option only provides one more excuse for hostility between members of the community.

Yeah, but you're better of "thumbing your own post" than getting fingered by 49 other guys like Jon in post #2
