After the insertion of the new groups in the game (Rookies) the progress of the update of the game is a bit messy :D.
It needs a better adjustment, i dont know the whereabouts but i think it will help us a lot if it goes a lot smoother than it goes right now :D

It is since last race, actually. The rest of your post is therefore pointless.

Did you just guess that that was the cause of the slower updates? What if you are wrong?

You are very wrong about it. It is going like that for the current season, you are not very observant :D

Actually, you are incorrect. See below.

There seems to be something wrong with the server since the last update. It runs much slower than it should (just the update) while not using the full processing power that is available. I thought I had fixed it, but seems I have to continue investigating the reason for this :|

The stuck at 97% is from the begining of this season. From the last race it is much worse. Thats all.

It has always slowed down for the last 3%
My memory of this goes back 6 seasons

Actually he's right. The progress bar always slows down at 97%.

It has always stayed quite long at 88% and 97-99%. I haven't noticed any major difference this season (except last 2 races).

He was referring to the whole update, not just the 97% slowdown.

Only last two races from what Ive seen and I never leave here, Im stuck to the PC by my GPRO cap, pressing refresh every 3 seconds hoping my life will change somehow, and in someways it has, I need rehab.

George why are you doing it to yourself?
Nevermind, lets give a hint to all the fast defenders of GPRO. Last race Vladimir realized that he didn't fix a problem that (obviously) had spotted at least one race ago (that makes at least two) or more.

Although the OP may have got the reason for the slowing wrong, his suggestion is sound, although I have no idea how simple that would be to implement. Progress bars tend to be inaccurate in lots of computing applications (like installing programs). It would be nice if it said 50% when half the update time had passed and half still to go. But, as I said, I don't know the reason why it works the way it does, so don't know how "fixable" it is to accurately represent the progress time.

Maybe i was misunderstood. I dont care how much time the update takes to finish. I dont want the admins to buy better equipment. I am just proposing a smoother meter progression of the update.
What i am saying is a new perspective but maybe is too hard to implement it.

I did not. I guess it would take quite a bit of time that could possibly be spent on other things.
Would it really make us feel more looked after?

the update progress meter is just one routine in the whole server program? is it so difficult to adjust it better?
If it is its ok by me, i am just proposing i am not commanding you know :D

Its not a bad suggestion George. I just don't see the point but that is no reason not to do it.

IF you tried to think before you answer you could give the simplest answer to George, but some friends here are just trying to be fast.
The correct answer is that 88% of data processing is not necessarily demanting 88% of time. ;)

That's the cause of the problem. The solution is quite simple too. Just reprogram the bar so that 97% displays as some other appropriate number, like 66%, 98 could then be 77% and 99 could be 88%. Numbers lower than that could be proportionately adjusted relative to 66%.
If you were so inclined.
edit: You can't make it a % of time because to do that you'd have to know in advance how much time the update would take. Any computer geek worth his salt would tell you there's no way to predict that for certain, regardless.

When the update starts, I go make a sandwich, look at another site, or pretty much do anything besides stare at the update progress. After about 10 minutes, come back, and like magic, it's done. :)

First of all it's more than half hour, so you probably ate more than one sandwich ;) lol Second for EET all that happen around midnight and we are waiting to update our data sheets etc and go to sleep. For you it's just your afternoon and who cares about half an hour early or late
