Risks are too high, perhaps?

You haven't got a single pole position in your career.
I'd say lower your risks. That should make the engine last longer.

From FAQ
Q: All my car parts are worn, I am in debt and can’t buy new parts, what do I do? A: DON’T PANIC! You need to slow down and learn to control the wear of your car parts, try looking at driver risks. Try to finish races so you can make more money to update the car. You can still downgrade parts however. Think very carefully about what you spend your money on. A little hint - in rookie even risks of 40 are considered very high.

60 is very high at Rookie. Some tracks will wear out a part in one race at 80, and that's with zero wear.
Also, the more worn a part gets, the higher likelyhood it will give out.

there's your problem. your risks should be around the 0 mark. seriously.
edit: Rusty needs to learn grammar, and to stop talking about himself in the 3rd person

ONLY 90 risk , that is practically as high as it can be, try using 9 instead :)

Not necessarily. ;)
E; although for a Rookie yes, but I'm sure you know what I'm getting at.

you shouldn't be allowed to use risks until you have competed in 10 races

I'd advise first find out what makes a fast driver without high risks. Then find out what makes a driver fast with risks.
