certainly looks like a 5 way race to me and anything can happen at this stage.

I'm just looking for one more bad race before I start to look to retain for this season. I looked over all 5 master divisions and this and M2 look like the tough leagues. I wish I was not in the same group as a team mate because the benefits are small but if you both want to promote at the same point there is an ugly fight. I wish I could bump over to m4.

Rafal knows how to grab defeat from the jaws of victory. I prefer to get killed over one wait state in the weather so I pitted on the last lap and ended P27 when I would have had around P11 if I had one wait lap...terrible luck for a number of us.

You both survive... Imagine something like this twice, on both chosen OBP races (with a 3rd as backup) cause of randoms. Which both occur when having podium position and instead retain as expected one relegates...

That's a ruined season (and future) :P

I do find that randoms can destroy a season. However what I hate is getting multiple randoms in a season that can ruin any long term plans. It is hard to survive getting hit again and again. If your long term plan is ruined when you are this high it may take 3 seasons to get back to AM then 3 more to PRO, 3 more to M and you have just spent 9 seasons or 3 years of playing to get back to where you were before the multiple randoms and that cause great frustration in people. One reason I think people should be able to drop all the way to AM to start a rebuild later with some conditions: reduce facilities to appropriate levels, Reduce test points to 15 max, reduce MOT to 0, etc just so you do not come into AM too strong. We are going to get there anyhow so why drag it out. No one benefits.

It's not very ideal indeed when your new suspension with just testing wear starts to smoke randomly and then you lose time from that lap, then your pitstop will also be slower than your regular one. I lost roughly ~42 seconds from that (plus cold tyres, "hard" overtaking, yadayada) and combine that in Master where gaps are nonexistent and overtaking on that track was near impossible. Finishing 28th I lost only 1:29 minutes to the leader, so I think we all know how much that 42 seconds impacts your race income...

Replying to Jay, I also lost my sure podium at Brem for a random weather change (yes it was my own mistake I guess? but I belonged on that podium for the speed what I had), so 2 good races what were planned for me gave a lot less money than planned, not just 1. It's hard to make a planning for "random" races when you start with very low money.

Quote ( Alex Holland @ March 9th 2021,17:37:07 )

drop all the way to AM

I don't know how healthy it would be for the game if people could go back to Ama straight from Elite, yes you can lower CCP's to a capped amount, but then it should be logical to fully cap the CCP in Ama to that amount as well (since you can get new points from next 2 races), I think it isn't a great idea. Only thing which could work well is that relegation tax should be almost 100%, meaning that you start with almost 0 money while you still can get an 110 OA driver before, etc.
Bigger problem is that if many start to use it, there will be a lot more unwanted promotions and I think this isn't really how the game is meant to be played. If there would be some kind of seasonal seasons or "events" which would be different from the main game (pretty much private leagues), then there of course all of that would be fine.

We already have a lot of random factors in this "management" game so IMO removing random pit would be a nice fix.

There is already a option to drop down the levels all the way to rookie but nobody likes losing those untrainables If you could drop back to amateur it does help with motivation but you'd still have a unfair advantage over those in your group. If it was allowed though I think everything should drop to 0 except for staff untrainables and you start with a level 3 car so that means all ccps and sponsors progress too.

I think it would be better to have your car parts lowered based on how much levels you drop down. Going back to Ama and starting with 0 money would be good enough punishment already I think, sponsor progress can also stay, why that removed?
Like you can relegate from Pro with high level 9 car anyway, so I don't see really why you shouldn't have the same thing then from higher leagues.
