I want to suggest more laps only for the first test of season, like 300 instead of 100.

Pros:
- engineers need to make sure that the car is good
- car wear will arrive earlier for managers who choose it >:)

Cons:
- Rookie, not knowing the game, wasting his fresh lvl 2 car parts
- too much realism in gpro

Imagine a Rookie, not knowing the game, wasting his fresh lvl 2 car parts just to test 300 laps for better setup. Now how is that good?

So more laps = more CCPs, but more wear and costs? Not sure if I like this one...

...How? You seem to be placing too much realism in gpro.

HAHAHA!!!! do they still do THAT? ;)

As for the original post of more testing laps for R1, I'm going to say no for various reasons...

I'm going to say YES for various reasons, though I'm not going to elaborate on them as I believe that you should all by now be able to read my mind.

More or less like F1 pre-season test sessions?

The case that comes in mind is that doing 300 laps right away will make your car unfit for complete the race 1 already, so not sure if it will be an option very much used.

That's what I was thinking. Imagine the wear from just 100 laps of testing and multiply that by 3. You're gonna need a new car just to get through R1.

Its a pretty good idea I think :{) Although not very useful or cost efficient at the upper levels of the game. Could be very useful at the start of a Pro promotion season (for example).

I'm going to reply with a meaningless post, because I never have something of value to add to a discussion and have the urge to troll instead.

An extra 200 laps to use throughout the season as you wish would add a bit more decision making. Using 0 laps or 300 (or occasionally somewhere in between) first race would be a no brainer for most I think

To avoid rookie mangers hitting trouble this could be simply limited to mangers in ama and above :)

There are plenty of noobs in Ama who promoted purely due to being in an incredibly easy group on rookie...

Just don't see there's major benefit compared to the problems it would cause.

If you're looking for an easy group to promote, you're definately not managing your career very well...
That means, get a better driver. Trust me, if you're promoting with difficulty in an easy group, then it's straight back to Ama.

And it's also not the slightest bit relevant to the suggestion being discussed. Unless you have something at least slightly related to the suggestion, Kshitij, please don't post in here.
