Points Allocation

You will have 50 points to allocate for your team in each half.

You assign points to your forwards, midfielders and defenders. You also choose which formation your team will use from the pre-set options (no 3-5-2!!!).

The number of players in each positions acts as multiplier value with your points, for example:

If you chose 4-4-2 and put 20 points on your forwards the would have a value of 40 points (20 points * 2 forwards)

The values you input will interact with each other (and 1 random value between 1-3 when you're attacking and 1-2 when defending) to produce the 1st half score-line. The full score break-down (and the formations used) will be shown for your half-time team talk to re-allocate points for the 2nd half.

The Ultra Defensive Rule

If the combined total of the 2 team's defences equals more than 50 points then the one with the more defensive set-up will lose a goal to a free-kick on the edge of the area - though will not have a man sent off. In the case of a tie, the Home Team will be penalised.

In a knockout competition extra time will be added (so the same format again), with 20 points to be allocated for each half. If the scores are still level after this penalties will be the final decider, which will take into account your forwards vs defence totals with equal 1-6 dice rolls determining this. If there is no clear winner after 3 penalties each, then your midfield totals will be used vs defence for the final 2 penalties, then midfielder totals for the first 2 penalties of sudden death, then defender totals for the next 4 penalties of sudden death and so on.

In extra-time a combined total of 20 to the defence between the two sides is enough to trigger the Ultra-Defensive Rule.

"Bot" Teams

Bot teams will be subdivided into "A" Bots, "B" Bots, "C" Bots, "D" Bots and "E" Bots, which are given 51, 48, 45, 42 and 39 points respectively to spend. Once a bot team is taken over it receives the usual 50 points available.

Bot teams allocate equal points to each of the 3 parts (Forward, Midfield, Defence), but can therefore still represent a threat if you don't play sensibly, as their formation will not be known before the match. Given that you know their tactics in advance (and they will NEVER change formation at half-time) you should be able to engineer a win if you think strategically (though not all of the time, that would be too easy!).

In extra time a bot team will have 21, 18, 15, 12 and 9 points depending on whether they are A, B, C, D or E.

Tournaments

Country Decider

1 - Any manager who was in charge of a team last season, who equalled/bettered their World Ranking will retain their team (as long as they are a native of that country)
2 - If you are not a native of the country you were managing, and someone from that country joins the game then you will automatically forfeit your place as manager of that team to the native manager
3 - If you did not equal/better your World Ranking then you will automatically step down from your role and be entered into a Country Decider Tournament...

These tournaments will be on an individual basis, and will determine the order for who can choose their country 1st. A random draw will be made to decide who faces each other, with players from previous seasons seeded so as not to face each other initially where possible.

Remaining players will then be able to choose any nation that is not represented by an existing player in the draw (no matter where that player finished).

Friendlies

In order to challenge someone to a friendly:

1 - You CANNOT be currently involved in a qualifying match.

2 - You CANNOT challenge anyone currently involved in a qualifying match.

3 - You can only challenge someone who is +/-10 places to your position in the world rankings here -

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1dZjPF0XJJvru4qe_z2rP...

4 - If you have a qualifying fixture this week, you can only make 1 friendly challenge AFTER you have finished your qualifying match.

5 - If you have no qualifying fixtures this week, then you can make up to 2 friendly challenges this week. HOWEVER you can only make/accept a 2nd friendly challenge once you've finished your 1st friendly (likewise you can't challenge anyone in the middle of a friendly match either).

6 - Deadline for submitting a friendly request is Saturday at 23:59 CET - please note in some weeks I will deliberately not allow many friendlies to happen, dependent on how busy I am in RL.

Continental Championships

These will have randomly drawn qualifying groups, and lead to a final. Those who win in each continent will NOT receive an automatic entry for the World Cup this season, however they will be guaranteed to manage that team the following season.

World Cup

The most prestigious tournament, and the only one with a cash prize for the winners.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Schedule (subject to change depending on RL!)

Joining Phase Until January 17th
Country Deciders Until January 31st

Continental Championships Qualifying Draw February 1st

Some countries are taken, then you'll get to choose your country in order of signup. First comes first serves.

Which country you are isn't much important, more important (in my opinion) is the continent you're on, where Europe is probably the toughest!

btw, is there gonna be a confederations cup? :)

Guys.
You dont have to choose big teams in order to win.Bhutan ended 2nd in the WC but in the real life they are one of the smallest teams around lol.
Dont bother to play that way as you wont get any bonus :)

Confederations Cup

By popular demand there will be a Confederations Cup - this will normally consist of the following teams:

- Winner of AFC Asian Cup
- Winner of CAF African Cup of Nations
- Winner of CONCACAF Gold Cup
- Winner of CONMEBOL Copa America
- Winner of OFC Nations Cup
- Winner of UEFA European Championships
- World Cup Winner (or best performer, if World Cup Winner is one of the above)
- Best ranked team not included

However as the following teams are now BOT teams:

- AFC Asian Cup winner Nepal
- CAF African Cup of Nations winner Cameroon
- CONCACAF Gold Cup winner Costa Rica

The tournament will take place this season with only 4 teams, as follows:

- CONMEBOL Copa America winner Brazil (Pedro Freire)
- OFC Nations Cup winner Tonga (George Togas)
- UEFA European Championships winner Germany (Tim-Oliver Wagner)
- World Cup winner Netherlands (Kevin Buis)
