Well. I signed a nice driver for next season. After a few races his motivation increased and his overall skill went above 85. Ok, no problem. Lots of options to decrease it.

First, I tried to get to -15 million. That failed, because I made a stupid mistake.

Ok, no big deal. Then I will crash my driver to decrease his motivation.

First try to crash at the start, otherwise crash in the race. Everything was at it's maximum values. So I was watching the start and had to make a pitstop because of a startcrash. Way to go! Too bad he could continue.

But you know, 70 laps race, lots of laps to crash. After a while (lap 35) he still wasn't crashed and I went to a gym myself with the thought: When I am back, I will see a crashed driver :).

So I checked when I was at home again: He drove the fastest lap and got on the podium with a 3rd place! What a maniac!

And I am such a stupid noob. I can't even crash my driver!

So farewell to my driver. It was a pleasure to work with you, but I am happy not to have you next season as my driver if you are such a maniac on the track ;-).

Oh, I am not certain if this is the right forum to post this, but I just wanted to share this :-).

You can crash only at the start.

But just make and cancel lot of offers to go -30M or something like that..

If you don't crash on the first lap of the race, the only times you won't finish the race is if your car can't continue due to a broken part (i.e from excessive car wear), or a random tyre puncture. Don't put your bets on that happening though.

Well, if you want to crash so badly, try to start with *wrong* tyres, it might have a difference :)

For the record, crashing or even finishing last (either way) probably won't result in much - if any - lost motivation in Rookie.

E: I refer to the amount of participants, not some strange Rookie buff :P

Jukka answered the post. I don't believe there is anyway you can save the driver now.

That driver will be on everybody's short list. Hahahahahaaa

There is a market on thursday in which he can offer and cancel contract deals to drivers repeatedly, going into more negative.

Joining a team is expensive. You should try to arrange to do it 7 or 8 times before Friday's race.

There are still ways you can get more debt....... And I have hit the tires and crashed out of the race mid race so you can crash any time, it is just most often at the start

Yeah, I would expect to crash with such high risk values with my driver.

I read somewhere (faq? Rules?) that you'll most likely not finish in rookie with a risk of 40.

So when I entered 100 everywhere I was quite certain to crash :).

But thanks for some advices! Might still save my driver then :)

The problem with deliberate start crashes in Rookie is that you still get full race earnings, sometimes even points if there are 8 or fewer on the grid. Nevertheless, the advice above regarding finances is more than sufficient enough to simply kill your driver's motivation. Good luck :)

The other issue with delibrate crashing, noone ever seems to mention is you can also ruin another persons race which isnt particularly fair on them either depending on their situation.
