Can someone that qualified immediately confirm whether it really has avoided the Q energy penalty, ie. compared to teammates' drivers that didn't Q yet?

Yes, it did. A teammate qualified right after the race, precisely to check if Energy could go to negative or if there was negative hidden value. Nope. After a long period down the road his energy level was the same as that of the other of us who didn't do the qualys.

Quote ( Roland Postle @ September 18th 2016,01:02:15 )

if the Q drop is exploitable it needs fixing asap

That's what I said plenty of times in the Driver Energy thread, but either people dismiss their disadvantage or are glad of their advantage or something, because most people won't mind.

Quote ( Roland Postle @ September 18th 2016,01:02:15 )

I can probably manage to Q immediately most races this season but there's no way I want that kind of advantage over others, nor tbh the stress of doing it

We're on the same boat. I can qualify inmediately after Fridays' races and most likely after Tuesdays' ones with a little effort. Yet I don't want to have that kind of massive advantage.

You can add : and make a spa resort just after the race...same kind of advantage as to make his qualy at this moment.

Some changes will come soon but i don't like this kind of advantage for the one who could be there at a specific moment (no one seems to like it)

Vlad announced some soon-coming changes in the big Driver Energy thread that seem to fix both Q problems, so happy days. I hope the Spa thing will be fixed too if it is a similar issue

Not exactly. I feel it's very risky but I like risking - and had not other chance. ;)

And there 14 persons who are using Bridgerock in this group. This driver is still cheaper than Br.

lol maybe you are better in that because you had been better when the "tools: were not that powerful..

i know you like the new feature because as you have written it will help the ones knowing how to train a driver.... i am not sure about that and i actually think that the opposite will happen
moreover i don't think that energy consuption is much different between drivers within the same group at least for the ones going for promotion etc

Driver energy consumption is very different for same age/same overall drivers....Trust me on this one :)

Maybe. But on first glance it seems that drivers act very different on new feature. How exactly different? FOBY mate :)

The question is. did we need this??

Having thought about this new implementation over the weekend and not immediatelly after the race where i lost pretty much comfortable win, here are my thoughts:

1. I really do like this new feature, very nice idea and concept, but...........

2. ........ but depletion of energy is just plain wrong. Elite drivers MUST be able to go 100ct for 1 single race. Period! In order to make this work, recharge of energy could be slightly slower then now to use energy management better intead of messing up first race for everyone (perhaps have different energy recharges for Masters and Elite, I have no idea really). There is a huge difference between Rookie and Elite. If you get up here to Elite, every single decision counts and could make you fail or succeed. If I was in Rookie, I'd be lauging really hard about this past race :)

3. Having said that, i am affraid there will be more tweaking from now within the season to get the concept to its optimum state, therefore it will be harder for managers to adjust to changes. Tweaks were done within the season before even without energy, so actually it will be no change really.

4. Rules say that only a few drivers can drive race with full risks. If its not Elite drivers, are there really any drivers that can do this? If so, everyone will be dropping their drivers and get those. I hope to be wrong, but it's ideal time for DA people to test different pilots and gain huge advantage from it;s research. To be fair, nothing can be done about it.

And lastly, i wrote earlier here that this season is my farewell season in Elite, well in the end it will be my farewell to GPRO after spent here a few exciting seasons, which i enjoyed very much!!!

Your driver was unable to finish last race with full risks not because his stats were not good enough. There was another reason for that. You will find it out soon.

agree with Jan. I don't think that driver energy is a good idea but if it has been realised, we need to get new fixed system.
I see a lot of good reviews from rookies and amateurs. Yes, I can understand them. For me my task became much more easier. As Ioannis wrote, the one who knows what driver is better, get much more advantage than earlier. So I can confirm that personally my results will be higher with this system and I should be happy but I'm not. A lot of another managers are.
So if we're talking about amateurs, it is interesting additional, but when you already was in Masters and Elite, you start to think another way. It is crazy when Elite drivers can't pass all the distance. And it will be much more crazy when the fastest strategy includes CT-0 mode in a few last laps.
And if our driver lost so much energy on CT-100 then logically we should to have a chance to regenerate it using low risks. But for example, my driver lost much more energy on CT-0 in the first race that I expected.

I don't deny his abilities and preparation, but getting pole in Race2 without a FT in a debut season, is not that usual, is it? :o Thus unexpected. Top3 is a hardly reachable target, but surely he will be a strong competitor for spots behind podium this season ;]
