Just joined (today was my 2nd race) and scored a young talentful new driver of 84 overall, to train for next season & hopefully gain promotion..

Due to tactics and favourites severely underperforming I accidentally won the race tonight... :)

Although I am kind of proud my talent is now 88 meaning I will loose him at the end of the season (right?) This was not planned... So is there any way to get his overall down before season reset??

Besides, if your balance is less than $-15.000.000:

• Your technical director (if you have one) will leave your team
• Your driver and staff motivation will drop to 0
• You will not be able to make driver offers with a salary higher than the minimal salary the driver is asking

Go over 15million in debt and you will reduce his motivation to zero.

Go far enough in debt to stay under -15 million after the last race to make sure it stays at zero.

Try to drop out of the race :)

Edit: Well it is still valid, but as the other guys mentioned, it is not a guaranteed method in rookie, so go under -15 million as advised.

You'll need to, at this point, go under $-15million in order to reset your driver's motivation to 0. The lack of activity in your group means you won't lose much motivation simply from coming last.

Congrats on the win though :)

Read the Game Rules Mate.
There is a really BIG hint in there for you to keep your driver.

If you can't find it, or don't understand what to do, send me a PM :)

In Amateur Yes, but certainly not in Rookie when you need to lose 3 OA.
Your worse result in most groups will be ~10th to 12th, & in some groups you will still score points.
You simply can't lower motivation far enough with those results.

What Jay needs to do has been covered above, so no need to confuse the issue for him Daniel

Thanks everyone for your help! I was trying to do as suggested, spending money as a madman but made a mistake in the process... No longer able to get to -15M So I will loose my driver but now cause of my own mistake. At least I learned some valuable things and know what kind of driver to look for so the search starts again ;)

If your mistake was doing replacements and then not being able to spend anymore, you still have an option: market offers. Each one will cost you money, you cancel it and then you do more offers. Don't forget to cancel all of them at the end. But you need to do it quickly, before the market is closed.

Edit: Check rule 5.5 for more clarity /gb/GPRORules.asp

Rookie is the place to make mistakes and learn Jay :)

Good luck next season!

(Edwin has a point, you might be able to fix it still :) )

First of all congrats for the win, second Jay don't worry if you'll lose your pilot, there are so many other good enought for the battle of promotion in the next season, expecially after the reset.
You can search for someone similar and get the same result ;-)

p.s.: don't be angry because i'm seeing that you're not the only one with that problem in our group, most of all managers will lose theirs pilots and there are others who have already played the card of the -15M trick, in vain as I see, maybe too many tests...
