Tiebreaker 30 seconds (no idea on this one so a pure punt in the dark)

Can I change this - if so I will go a bit lower to 15 secs ......... but if not that is fine as I don't expect to be anywhere near having to use it.

Welcome Alen and Janne as well! That's it for Indy today as Marcus Ericsson wins the Pit Stop Challenge. Next up is the Formula E Berlin ePrix qualifying, starting tomorrow 08:45 CET and followed by their race at around 13:00 CET.

I'll post the first standings probably only after the FE race - because there's nothing really to be updated here yet as no one has scored bonus points ha. But ~99% of the points are handed starting tomorrow anyway, so all to play for.

Just realised that Mairo is missing a tiebreaker. I'll consider it to be 0.000s unless he changes it.

Yeah, as none of the races have been ran yet, I think it's still fine regarding the tiebreaker!

Formula E held their qualis this morning and also the Super Pole session - it is Sébastien Buemi who will be starting on the pole for the race which begins in 1.5 hours. That also means -3 pts for Paulo, Alan, Mark, Mairo and Janne. Quali results here:
https://www.fiaformulae.com/en/results/race-results/?champio...

So that's at 13:03 CET, and in the meanwhile it is possible to eg. take a look at F1 Monaco third practice in half an hour.

Di Grassi and Lotterer on the rise... D'Ambrosio on the fall :(

Frijns is the first to use attack mode. Usually Formula E races kick off later on big time so this may be a waiting game, even though the front pack is making great racing atm!

Excellent usage of first attack mode by Da Costa who rose from 6th to 2nd in all the mayhem.

Looking good for Di Grassi who played a strategic masterpiece by taking the second attack mode only lap later! Lotterer is the first picked driver to retire from the race. Buemi will be tight on energy?

It was indeed once again Audi Sport who excelled in the Tempelhof Airport - this time with Lucas di Grassi taking the chequered flag first! He made an early pass on Sébastien Buemi and then maintained the lead very easily. Behind them there was extreme battle for 2nd-6th places which changed many times, but Buemi came on top of them and held the speedy Vergne at bay in the late podium fight.

Out of the other picked drivers, Da Costa and Abt had strong races too, Sam Bird made many contact-overtakes and got points alongside Rowland and Wehrlein. Mortara was the first driver out of points whereas Evans, Massa started low on grid and couldn't do much. So did Frijns and Lotterer who rose quite a bit but not enough, latter one retiring eventually. D'Ambrosio lost 6 places in first laps and was only doomed.

Pos.	Driver Team Laps	Time/Gap
1. Lucas di Grassi Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler 37 47:02.477
2. Sébastien Buemi Nissan e.dams 37 +1.856s
3. Jean-Éric Vergne DS Techeetah Formula E Team 37 +2.522s
4. António Félix Da Costa BMW i Andretti Motorsport 37 +5.845s
5. Stoffel Vandoorne HWA Racelab 37 +6.336s
6. Daniel Abt Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler 37 +6.551s
7. Alexander Sims BMW i Andretti Motorsport 37 +8.235s
8. Oliver Rowland Nissan e.dams 37 +10.781s
9. Sam Bird Envision Virgin Racing 37 +13.153s
10. Pascal Wehrlein Mahindra Racing 37 +14.846s

The fastest lap of the race was driven by di Grassi as well, during his second attack mode. Buemi drove to the pole like it was mentioned earlier, and the driver who got the bonus for gaining most places was Robin Frijns, who advanced +9 places.

Current standings after 1/4 races:

Charlotte Robertson	20
Kyle Morris 14
Mikko Suhonen 9
Paulo Pinto -2
Mark Witney -4
Alan Halford -6
Mairo Toom -9
Alen Bat -9
Janne Väänänen -12
Dominik Karda -27
Greg Tierney -31
Pablo Navarrete -34

Charlotte takes the early lead here! Never in the past have we had as many players in negative points at any point, nobody survived without minus points from their #2 driver. Di Grassi and Buemi made very much damage to many players. However so much still to play for, nothing is settled here yet with tomorrow having the three other big races.

The Monaco GP qualifying starting next in 10 minutes!

Pablo didn't manage to post a third F1 driver so I'll give him whoever qualifies last today.

Extremely close Q1 like so many times in Monaco! Norris, Räikkönen, Ricciardo, Albon all under threat and even Vettel too.

In fact Vettel is incredibly close to elimination! That is looking not looking good at all for him yet, he will get one more lap but there'll be slower cars in front

WOOOOOT he makes it but Monaco's own boy Charles Leclerc gets eliminated due to last laps frenzy!!!

-------

Kubica was the slowest so I'll give that to Pablo.

In Q2 Räikkönen, Magnussen, Norris, Albon, Gasly currently in biggest danger. Again so very close. In the end it's Kimi and Lando being stranded out of the Q3 out of the picked drivers.

And that's mega laps from both Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas but eventually the Briton takes the pole by only 0.086s! Clearly the fastest ever Monaco lap around Monaco as well. Max Verstappen drove brilliantly too and was not too far away from the Mercs. Charles Leclerc is not in a good grid position but perhaps he's a shoe-in for the most places gained bonus.

That means +3 points for everyone except me, Mairo and Pablo! I have a feeling everyone will be able to add those points to those standings above ha.

Now that's all action from today - next we will have this very same Monaco Grand Prix tomorrow, starting in about 23 hours time at 15:10 CET!

The big day is here! Time to unleash horsepower on the streets of Monaco. And even though rain looked improbable, Hamilton's radio call just said a possibility of using Intermediates today so let's see...

Looks like Gasly got a 3 places grid penalty due to blocking so that helps Paulo, Alan, Dominik, and Kyle. Everyone's got their #1 F1 driver in the top 3 though anyway.

Procession of a start but Charles Leclerc gets overambitious and causes a safety car with his puncture and is now dead last. That helps me, Mairo and Alen.

However that also screws me and Mairo as Mercedes' stop was slow enough for Verstappen to get in front of Valtteri and Vettel too after a second stop :D

And the Monaco jubilee ends after all in Lewis Hamilton party! He had a stressful evening with higher tyre wear than his pursuit pack, but the victory was never really in doubt before a late race overtaking move by Max Verstappen which didn't eventually materialize. The Dutchman drove his best Monaco Grand Prix but was unfortunate of his Red Bull crew giving him an unsafe release in the pit lane, leading into a small penalty which dropped him to 4th. Valtteri Bottas got screwed by slower Mercedes stop which eventually dropped him behind Sebastien Vettel too due to contact with Verstappen and having to pit again. All in all, another very close battle for the honours!

Outside the top, Pierre Gasly drove a bit more lonesome race and capitalized his chance of making an extra pit and the chance to drive the fastest lap. The home crowd favourite Charles Leclerc made one good pass but fudged up his second attempt to barrier and had to eventually retire. Both Ricciardo and Magnussen got screwed by pitting too early and getting stuck behind a slow Stroll, thus handing over their higher points places. Alex Albon benefitted from that and got a decent finish due to a more regular strategy. Norris drove a lone race as well but didn't have the speed to points even with Stroll's help. Räikkönen made a bad first lap and was behind Stroll most race like Pérez. Kubica was hit by another car but didn't have the pace at anything either.

Pos.	Driver Team Laps	Time/Gap
1. Lewis Hamilton Mercedes 78 47:02.477
2. Sebastian Vettel Ferrari 78 +2.602s
3. Valtteri Bottas Mercedes 78 +3.162s
4. Max Verstappen Red Bull Racing-Honda 78 +5.537s
5. Pierre Gasly Red Bull Racing-Honda 78 +9.946s
6. Carlos Sainz Jr. McLaren-Renault 78 +53.454s
7. Daniil Kvyat Scuderia Toro Rosso-Honda 78 +54.574s
8. Alexander Albon Scuderia Toro Rosso-Honda 78 +55.200s
9. Daniel Ricciardo Renault 78 +1:00.894s
10. Romain Grosjean Haas-Ferrari 78 +1:01.034s

The pole was driven by Lewis Hamilton yesterday indeed, and Gasly got the fastest lap like mentioned above. And the driver who gained most places was George Russell who advance +4 places, but no one had chosen him.

Current standings after 2/4 races:

Charlotte Robertson	34
Kyle Morris 29
Mikko Suhonen 26
Alen Bat 19
Paulo Pinto 13
Mark Witney 12
Alan Halford 9
Mairo Toom 8
Janne Väänänen 1
Greg Tierney 1
Dominik Karda -12
Pablo Navarrete -40

The biggest mover here is Greg who totally eliminates his Formula E bad performance and swings a whopping +32 points from F1. The battle in the top tightens a slight bit, as Charlotte's lead diminishes a little. Alen got a good result as well. Meanwhile Pablo's all or nothing strategy is going closer to nothing at the moment.

Next up is the glorious Brickyard - the Indianapolis 500 starts in about one hour!

Halfway through soon and bigger updates concern only Castroneves who got a drive-through penalty for a pit lane accident, and Will Power who also got a penalty and was apparently sent to last place. Will is on lead lap but Hélio is now 2 laps down so that's bad for me, Alen and Pablo.

Pagenaud, Carpenter, Newgarden, Rossi, Bourdais looking good from the picked drivers. Quite clean racing so far, only one crash to the wall (by Kyle Kaiser).

-------

Rossi had a fuel hose problem but was saved due to a yellow flag from Ericsson's crash - a bit of relief for me, Charlotte whereas Pablo wouldn't have minded. Ed Jones seems to be a lap down as well so that's bad news for Alan.

Oooooooooh Bourdais! His spotter seems to have ignored Rahal and both crashed unfortunately. That's bad for Kyle. Red flag.

17 cars on lead lap - Jones is now the last of them. Most of our picks there too, Rossi, Pagenaud, Carpenter, Newgarden looking the best still in that order. 17 to go...

Pagenaud takes the lead in restart!

AAAANND IT'S SIMON PAGENAUD!!! Oh my what a battle vs Alex Rossi, that's a sweet penultimate lap pass to seal the win for the Frenchman!

What a great battle for the win between a handful of drivers, but in the closing stages it was a duel between Alexander Rossi and Simon Pagenaud. Pagenaud took the lead in restart, Rossi re-passed him three laps before finish but the Frenchman made another move two laps before finish and kept it together afterwards by breaking the tow from behind. Takuma Sato lucked out a bit and got himself into the win fight after being a lap down.

Newgarden, Carpenter, Power were in the lead battle for majority of race and got decent finishes after all. Hunter-Reay had a nothing of a race but rose decently in the end along with Kanaan. Other picked drivers; Dixon got a fair bit of damage from the 5-car crash and could not rise afterwards, Bourdais ended his race in that very crash. The other ECR cars Pigot and Jones ended in the back of the lead lap after a bit of yellow flag unluck at least on Pigot's behalf. Castroneves collided with another car on pitlane, got 2 laps behind and could never recover.

Pos.	Driver Team Engine Laps	Gap
1. Simon Pagenaud Team Penske Chevrolet 200 2h50m39.2797s
2. Alexander Rossi Andretti Autosport Honda 200 +0.2086s
3. Takuma Sato Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Honda 200 +0.3413s
4. Josef Newgarden Team Penske Chevrolet 200 +0.8979s
5. Will Power Team Penske Chevrolet 200 +1.6173s
6. Ed Carpenter Ed Carpenter Racing Chevrolet 200 +1.9790s
7. Santino Ferrucci Dale Coyne Racing Honda 200 +2.8055s
8. Ryan Hunter-Reay Andretti Autosport Honda 200 +4.0198s
9. Tony Kanaan A.J. Foyt Enterprises Chevrolet 200 +4.7708s
10. Conor Daly Andretti Autosport Honda 200 +5.3459s

The bonus for winning the Pit Stop Challenge went to Marcus Ericsson. Simon Pagenaud also led most laps and got the bonus for that. And the most places' gained bonus went to +21 places of James Hinchcliffe.

Current standings after 3 / 4 races:

Kyle Morris 57
Charlotte Robertson 48
Mark Witney 48
Mikko Suhonen 40
Mairo Toom 36
Alan Halford 33
Greg Tierney 33
Alen Bat 31
Paulo Pinto 23
Dominik Karda 20
Janne Väänänen 13
Pablo Navarrete -48

It is Kyle who jumps into the lead before the last event! Mark also makes an incredible jump with his +36 points. Mairo and Greg rise nicely too. It wasn't much more possible, but Pablo's game did actually get even worse.

This proves to be an exciting battle for the win with everyone down to Alen at least being within the 25pts for a win. I'll do more permutations once the race is a bit more on its way though.

The last race - the Coca-Cola 600 starts in about 10 minutes!

Or I might as well post it this way and do the permutations already ;)

Player Pts	#1 #2 #3
Kyle Morris 57 Logano Truex Jr. Bowman
Charlotte Robertson 48 Keselowski Truex Jr. Hamlin
Mark Witney 48 Logano Truex Jr. Hamlin
Mikko Suhonen 40 Truex Jr. Elliott Larson
Mairo Toom 36 Ky Busch Truex Jr. Hamlin
Alan Halford 33 Ky Busch Truex Jr. Hamlin
Greg Tierney 33 Harvick Logano Bowman
Alen Bat 31 Keselowski Logano A Dillon
Paulo Pinto 23 Elliott Harvick Hamlin
Dominik Karda 20 Logano Keselowski Hamlin
Janne Väänänen 13 Keselowski Logano Bowman
Pablo Navarrete -48 Ky Busch Logano Hemric

- Kyle can still win in multiple scenarios, but if Logano wins, he's nearly sealed it.
- Charlotte needs Keselowski+Hamlin to outscore Logano+Bowman
- No matter what happens, Mark needs Hamlin to finish in top 5 at least. He also needs Denny to beat especially Bowman & probably few others too.
- Looks like if Truex wins or is in top 3, then I have a pretty solid chance at the win myself. Everyone else pretty much needs Truex to not do any good in this race whereas I have him as #1.
- Mairo definitely needs Kyle Busch to be in top 4 at least. Then he needs Keselowski to not do as well and Hamlin to do.
- Alan cannot win this game anymore because his remaining picks are the same as Mairo's above. But he can still have a solid podium.
- Greg's slim hopes are that Logano scores no points, then Harvick will need a top 2 finish, and Truex to not score too much. Possibly a few other conditions but especially those.
- Alen will probably need Austin Dillon to win, Logano to score no points, and Truex outside top 4 at least.
- Paulo needs Elliott to win, and Truex Jr. in top 5 probably.

Below them, Dominik, Janne and Pablo don't unfortunately have a win shot anymore due to similar driver pickings and/or just being too far below.

About two thirds through now! Third of the four stages is now more than halfway through.

The stage 1 of Coca-Cola 600 went to Keselowski. Both Truex jr and Larson touched the wall durin the stage, which is quite not what I need. They're still in it but possibly a bit damaged. Kyle Busch also bumped hard into another car and caused a caution.

Hamlin in the wall in the 2nd stage, funnily enough it seems all Toyotas are going to hit the wall today and Truex did that for a second time too. Keselowski won the 2nd stage and thus we're halfway through. Currently all the picked drivers still in the lead lap, and so much can still happen.

And if that's not enough troubles for Truex, he just clipped another car into spin in third stage, I'm surprised he's not gotten a penalty for that. Currently Truex, Ky Busch, Elliott, Bowman, Logano, Larson all in the everchanging top 10, plus Keselowski and A Dillon not far either. Hemric just went a lap down. And the third stage ends in Truex's command. If this would end as it is, I assume I would get the win. Most others dearly need the #19 to fall far away from the top spot.

Oooh small damage for Kyle Busch who got tagged by his brother Kurt! Doesn't seem much bad though.
Ooh and there's a big crash - that's the end of the race for Austin Dillon so that's the end of Alen's win hopes. The car got tagged by Larson who is now in as bad shape so that's bad for me though and opens up even more possibilities for others in case Truex falters.

Last 100 miles to go now - Truex car apparently may have shown some smoke in the second place? Currently our Kyle is looking good at being the next best player and Mark third if things do still continue this way, as Logano is just about leading Keselowski in 4th place. Ky Busch has fallen too behind to atm give Mairo any chance. In fact, Logano & Keselowski Penske duo having climbed back so high means that we have more open situation, as Elliott the leader is the one who takes points away from me as well. Currently Kyle and me are separated by only 3 points.

Oh but Truex is just a couple laps short to taking the most laps led bonus away from Ky Busch. Keselowski could still take that bonus too. 50 to go... And Hamlin AGAIN in the wall, looks like no one will have their #3 Nascar driver scoring points today! Elliott loses ground whereas Logano is already up to 2nd... This is now close between me and Kyle, possibly whoever finishes higher out of Truex or Logano will decide!

Woah, there's the late race caution that Logano & Kyle needed as Truex was starting to inch away! Conveniently that was caused by Logano's teammate Keselowski ;) Brad's troubles mean end of the win battle road for Charlotte though. They'll restart with only about 5 to go.... but the front row in the restart will be David Ragan who didn't stop and Ryan Newman who didn't change but 2 tyres. Truex 3rd, in front of Ky Busch, Elliott and Logano.... this is gonna be wild.

4 wide in the restart :DDD But Truex finds a way through back to first! Logano is pursuing him big time though, it's between the two of them now! Aaand Truex keeps it together in the end and wins from Logano in 2nd! I have a feeling that the win should have against all odds fallen once again to my lap, but I'll sleep over it and do the official results only tomorrow with a clear head :D And sorry for the wall of text lol.

400 laps, 600 miles, one sunset, one wall-contact, two broken tyres and one hectic last restart later the winner emerges in the colours of Martin Truex Jr's car. That was quite a last restart where the top got shuffled due to others not pitting and causing a cork in the bottle - Kyle Busch found his way through in between the cork but Truex dipped below all of them, made it a 4-wide car ensemble and pipped everyone from the inside.

Team Penske was incredibly close to finally getting a win in both Indy and Charlotte on this same day, but in the end Logano's last pit was not as fast and he didn't get as good position for the final restart - but he made every right move there and finished second in front of Busch. Chase Elliott was leading for a good while in the last stage but had same pit troubles as Logano in the end. Bowman was nearly done with him having to come in pits too early but got another chance in the end and made a storming rise back to 7th. Harvick was nowhere after the night came and ended 10th.

Out of the other picks, Hamlin visited the wall three times, first two only causing flat tyres and slight bodywork damage, but the third one dropping him far from top 10 on the very last lap. Larson lost it and wrecked into Austin Dillon late in the race, ending both's night prematurely. Keselowski also hit the wall late in the race and fell behind. Hemric visited the wall as well and could never recover after falling a lap behind.

Pos.	Driver Team Engine Laps	Gap
1. Martin Truex Jr. Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota 400 4h50m09.0s
2. Joey Logano Team Penske Ford 400 +0.330s
3. Kyle Busch Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota 400 +1.421s
4. Chase Elliott Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet 400 +1.770s
5. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Roush Fenway Racing Ford 400 +2.374s
6. Chris Buescher JTG Daugherty Racing Chevrolet 400 +2.561s
7. Alex Bowman Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet 400 +3.178s
8. Jimmie Johnson Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet 400 +3.338s
9. William Byron Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet 400 +3.461s
10. Kevin Harvick Stewart-Haas Racing Ford 400 +3.819s

The bonus for pole position went to William Byron already on Thursday/Friday night - and the bonus for leading most laps goes to Martin Truex Jr. And the final bonus for most gained places belongs to Corey LaJoie who advanced +18 places.

Last race also gives us the correct tiebreaker: 4.9966 seconds which is all time low!

Final results after 4 / 4 races:

1st	Mikko Suhonen 56
2nd Kyle Morris 53
3rd Mark Witney 38 (TB: 17.000s)

4th Dominik Karda 38 (TB: 36.363s)
5th Paulo Pinto 34
6th Mairo Toom 23
7th Greg Tierney 22
8th Alan Halford 20 (TB: 15.000s)
9th Charlotte Robertson 20 (TB: 34.275s)
10th Alen Bat 13
11th Janne Väänänen 1
12th Pablo Navarrete -51

So in the end Mikko does take big advantage of Truex's win as most others had him as their #2 driver. Congrats to Kyle and Mark for keeping their podium places! Dominik makes a big rise but his tiebreaker keeps him away from top 3. Paulo also jumps bigly. Amusingly enough, Charlotte probably didn't enjoy the Charlotte race as it took her long way down from podium battle. On the other end of spectrum, Pablo had a memorable day too. In fact that ties the lowest ever points from last year when I already jinxed this year:

Yeah that is an absurdly low points amount! Will be hard to ever beat that one because the game is designed to have more positive points finishes than negative.

There is one small catch with Mikko's celebration

Bowman

Oh wait led laps, yeah he wins by 3 instead if I win by 3 xD
Always knew Nascar would screw me over

So yeah, I did see Bowman as he was always in the 9th-12th place in the closing stages but woah he made it a close one by a last lap rise! That Hamlin crash gave him a chance, two more places and you would have got me. Though even more than that it was a Truex-Logano battle which decided here.

I fell asleep after the first stage.. Was too late for me anyway. Thanks for the article, Mikko. Great read on the way to work. :)

Cheers! Good to hear that someone does read my riddles :D I did take a day off work for a reason today haha.

Thank you everyone for playing!
