Perhaps gold, silver & bronze award for “player of the tournament”?
Not bad, I won't negate it, a cool addition if implemented.

Race 8 results - Round of 16 ends

https://worldcup.cani-malati.com/index.php?area=results

Three matches were still undecided as we went into Race 8. The English team won races in Elite and two Master groups and it is no surprise their record-breaking 35.2 points was enough to turn their game against Portugal to their advantage, after having trailed 0-1 after the first leg.

The Netherlands had a complete off-day, netting just 5 points and allowing Hungary to advance without much trouble. And finally Sweden was 1-0 up after two legs and made it a relatively comfortable 2-0 win over the Club of 4.

On we go to the quarter finals and the competition is set to tighten up. Good luck to all nations and don't forget to put new players in the temporary positions!

See link above for complete standings and results.

Thank. God.

Congrats to Portugal on a great effort to push us all the way...but more confident about our chances in the next round now :)

I finally got wrangled into this World Cup. Had I known I'd do so well this season, I'd have joined sooner.

Oh my goodness, I joined in when Argentina is USA's next opponent, and who do I find on their team roster? Cap'n Guido Simonetta and Henrique Hughes Paunero, both of whom are no less than 29 points behind me in our group standings. It really is a small world after all.

@Jasper Coosemans (M2)
Little bug for you ^^

When you press F5 on Results screen, sometimes Poland and Portugal who have 130.0 are swapped in positions :)

But i think you have not coded the rules for general league classification ;)

Yeah that's correct, I haven't coded it for the league yet because I'm lazy and so far it hasn't been important yet. :P So it is possible that they switch around when you refresh. When two teams have equal points, the database will show them in the order it likes, which is pretty random.

Results calculation for Race 10 will start in a few minutes.

Yeah ^^

Roland Postle continues to drive hard, England was "Favorite" for me ^^

Edit : 36.8 points in one race !

If England don't win, i don't understand !

Roland definitely helps, and is having an amazing season - though it is worth noting that if he had scored 0 points last race then we would still have gone through, and would have been 2nd best team behind only Germany last time out.

Unlucky Hungary - great effort, and 24.8 is a quality score. Looks like you v Spain for 5th in the League now :)

Argentina loose the first place in league with "low" performances on 1/8 but still alive for 1/4 !

You make the job to be in 1/2, against Germany or Spain, no importance, it will be a hard battle, like our against England :)

Adam, you performed but it's like Poland against us on R6, they score 25.2, but we score 27.2 ^^
Sometimes, there is no "chance", Portugal have it against England but not defeat them ;)

It's going to be a tough fight between us and Spain. But I hope that the goddess Fortuna will side with us. If not, we have shown in any case that it is possible to be good without Elite and Master.

Quarter finals are over

https://worldcup.cani-malati.com/index.php?area=results

Three quarter finals were already decided after two races. Argentina, England and France had relatively easy wins over the United States, Hungary and Sweden respectively. England broke the points record for a single race in Race 10, scoring 36.8 thanks to 7 podium finishes including the Elite race win.

The other game, between Germany and Spain, did go all the way. Spain had taken a 1-0 lead in the first race, but a cup match lasts 3 races and in the end the Germans win.

Two thrilling semi-finals have been lined up: Argentina takes on Germany while England faces France.

Good luck to all!

Team Captain elections start soon: time for new countries to enter

Race 12 will mark the start of the Team Captain elections for next season. Team Captain terms last for two seasons, so the ones that are currently in place will star on for next season as well (unless you let me know you want to retire).

However, candidates for new countries should start thinking about entering!
