Hi all, first of all my apologies for how the World Cup has been going this season. I thought I set up the elections properly last season, with an announcement in this topic and in-game notifications sent out to previous captains. So it was a little surprising to see so few people signing up in the regular way. And then I let the community down by not being available to add captains manually at the start of the season, which resulted in a bit of a mess.
I can't deny that the World Cup deserves to be treated better than this, and that I have found other priorities in life that mean that I'm simply not fit to be running this competition anymore.
The good news is that @Florencia Caro (A58) will take over the running of the World Cup from me. This transition will happen over the course of the next weeks (after the start of Season 94).
In order to make the Season 94 World Cup a success, we need to find a sufficient number of captains before the first race of the season. Therefore I have exceptionally opened the timeframe for candidacies until 23:59:59 tomorrow evening, 21 June.
All those who have sent me a PM or posted in this topic have been added as candidates. That means these people:

Thank you Jasper Coosemans (E) for your effort towards this over the years. I, as have many, have thoroughly enjoyed participating and it is good to see that this will continue.

You consider table with false 1/16th finals and false 1/8th finals...
I've made a post with "true" results on R9, and when Jasper correct it, we see sames numbers...
What do you want ? A win with no battle due to system lacks with all oponents putted out except PRT ?
You are in final, win it now !

I didn't talk about results.
the results are correct....
Greece and Bandeira who played, both passed.
to 1/8 end.
(being Switzerland and the flag that played were eliminated)
in run 10, yes it was all corrected.
Now everyone sees it in their own way.

don't undestand, who is Bandeira for you ?
All nations goes to 1/8, we are 11
The draw makes that Greece, Portugal and Swizerland don't have opponents then then goes to 1/4 automatically !
The systems suffers of lacks when you have no opponents and Greece have a place in 1/2 that it canno't have, because they are beaten by switzerland, with loyal rules.
You can't consider Greece have to go to 1/2 on breaked informations. this is not fair right ?

In the same way, Belgium was eliminated by the system with no opponents...
And then after will probably eliminate Poland in the same way...
Portugal can win, with corrects plays, not by system errors !

Making a joke out of this topic is not the idea, I believe. I do understand that frustrations were vented, but the need to make this personal is beyond that. We are all adults here, right? :)

You are condering, like Ricardo that the good results are the ones with problems on system.
Why not, it's you point of view.
I don't want to be lord, orner or other thing.
I'm just an invested manager in the World Cup, and it is why France have 7 titles !
I don't says you are à fake, you are just wrong by considering results on broked system, nothing else.
You are the only one who complains on this situation...

Congratulations to Belgium for winning the World Cup (both league and knockout!!!)
I never thought we had a chance until we took the lead in R15... and if I had just made a few different picks we might had taken that title! But I'm proud of our team for getting 2nd place and also to the final which was the best I figured we could do from the start of the season.
Congrats again, had fun in my first season as the Portugal captain!

Thanks to Jasper for having the decency to realise a future for the game even with his lack of time to continue to run it and passing the baton over to Flo. I think it should be remembered that amongst some recent criticism from people, that it wouldn't exist without him, and i'm sure many hours have been put into making it so much of a success that people are very passionate about it having a future. He should take great credit for creating something which has a lasting impact around here. Winning the Elite title i'm sure was a great personal achievement, but the World Cup game is his lasting legacy off-track.
