I considered granting your request, but I'm a little afraid to set a precedent. If I grant it now, and another team captain comes and asks for a merger after R2 or after R3, can I decline it?

I do understand that the season start is a tricky period (and the World Cup elections weren't run very actively this time around) so I will amend the rules to state that mergers can be arranged until R3, but this rule will only take effect next season.

A question for @Jasper Coosemans (E)

what factor is taken into account in the event of a tie between two teams. To give an example, was our victory over Poland decided by the points difference in the direct match or by the points difference in the general classification?

Thanks for the reply...

When a knock-out match ends in a tie, the winner is decided based on the total number of points scored during that match. So in this case:

Italy 35.6 + 28 + 26 = 89.6
Poland 25 + 31.2 + 26 = 82.2

Redewaan, I don't think so. So far you have finished last (38th) and 32nd,

I think is importante for all portuguese managers that we could have a new coach in world CUP.

The captain we have did not start this season races.

Please let somebody replace him

IF Júlio Pereira want the place it is good for me. I would be fine to BE the captain too. I think every portuguese manager Will take the place if needed.<div>

Election time: Team Captains' terms reduced to one season!

It's that time again... World Cup elections! If you want to lead your country to GPRO glory, visit the World Cup website and go to the election page.

This season, there is a change to the system! When the World Cup was started, I thought I would organize elections manually, and so the Team Captains were elected for 2 seasons to avoid having too much work. As everything is now running quite well with barely any intervention from me, I decided to have elections each season!

I hope this will lead to more people having a try (because you only have to commit for one season) and increase the engagement of the community.

Good luck to all candidates!

Just posting here for all the Dutch managers: I'm not going to put myself up for re-election!

Managing the WC team was fun but I have too much going on to be able to really put time into it. Our team deserves a more dedicated captain.

In 2 races it's difficult to have a good team, or it will force somes nations (like France), to have more managers in the firsts 2 races ;)

And finally, we have each seasons less than 32 actives teams (in general)
31 in S73 but somes like South Africa or Greece start very late !
31 in S75, idem
31 in S79, idem

33 in S82 !!!! Latest Start, Portugal on R3 !

And currently, S83, only 26 !

Hi @Jasper, I've a question:
Election of TC is performed season by season, but can a TC, like me in this case, be candidate for 2 season in a row?

Thanks in advance for your feedback

Just a heads-up - if you want to lead your World Cup team, you have until the start of Race 16 to nominate yourself!

Visit the World Cup website and head to the Election page.

Congratulation to Italy in this WC season.

I hope we share the title by leaving the league. Good luck and a pleasure to compete with all the teams that have participated
