I’m sure that many of us have noticed the rapid rise through the ranks made by Ger Gommans. He made it to Master in 4.5 seasons and managed to promote from Pro in his first season there while picking Hancocks and losing very little of his finances while doing that. Great and innovative idea from the newbie after only having done 62 races and no prior experience in Pro Amazing performances in all ranks, while not spending too much time in the game show that the man might be a genius. His good results also led him to great success in a PM based forum game over 4 seasons, while only having sent 6 PMs from his account ever. Amazing, he is even in the record books of the game. But now it unfortunately looks like he has had to leave from the game and has not started his first Master season. It’s such a great shame to see a very promising manager having to step away from the game, I’m sure that people were awaiting great results from him, but now we unfortunately can’t see greatness in the making. I hope he returns to the game and finishes what he has started. But for now I would just like to say farewell to him, so I’ve made a little poem with help from my with my friend Snoop Dogg a.k.a Andre to honor him 😊

Ode to Ger

Ger Gommans, you were a boss
Seeing you gone is such a big loss
From Rookie to Master in less than 5 seasons
To doubt your pure skills, I just have no reasons

Fast from the start
You tore a former Elite apart
With 18 minutes per race
You shoved it in everyone’s face

Picking Hancocks in Pro,
Nice newbie strat, my bro
In just a season you made it happen
But now you’re in Master and we all miss you lappin’

Such a sad sight to see
You were an idol to me
I hope you will ever return
So Elite contenders can burn

And after you have set them on fire,
From the sheer will of your pure desire,
There will be no more domination nor any weird plots,
For a true, real person, is so much better than bots

But if you can’t come back to the game
You will leave with a TERG record to your name
A simple and symbolic gesture
Of how great it was, your stellar adventure

Farewell, great Ger Gommans!
I hope you enjoy life in the Bahamas!

P.S I hope that all conversation in this thread will be civilized and follow the rules of the great GPRO forums!

I've heard that the reason behind the popularity of Hancocks is purely because Ger used them last season

A manager who got to master with an average of 18 minutes per race. Just comes to show how all of us are wasting our time on here

This just shows what a great mind this man has, figured out the game without showing any effort at all. No wonder he got bored.

Bye!!!

Maybe, Ger Gommans had a partner in crime called Stefan Gommans, hence the reason for his hasty retreat. Just saying :)

I raced against him last season and he was, for me, a manager who's looking to stay afloat and hence must have picked Hanks, but against aaj odds he was terrific quick (new driver in Pro) and with his tyres. No doubt I had hard time starting up with him.

Edit - Don't know what's the reason behind he not playing anymore.. You actually promoted and you stop playing. Unfair got some

A little birdy told me that the two accounts have absolutely no connection whatsoever, so please keep any DA accusations away from this thread even if Stefan has confirmed Ger to be his dad in a forum post, because that would cause a breaking of the forum rules and putting this thread in danger of being closed :) :)

I'm a little scared to post some stuff in this thread in fear of pissing off the mods, but it's easy to find when you go to Gers profile and look at his forum posts(he only has one).

Not an accusation, just an observation. Apologies if it offended anyone.

And Stefan is the reason why he went so well. You can correct me if I am wrong in this observation.
