The GPRO World Cup
This post is an introduction to the World Cup. For current affairs and things to do, see the following post.
Tournament for national teams
The GPRO World Cup strives to find the strongest nation in Grand Prix Racing Online. The intention of this tournament is to have a balanced competition where larger and smaller nations can compete on an equal level.
Competition format
The World Cup lasts for one GPRO season. A national team consists of 6 permanent managers who are in the team throughout the whole season, plus 2 managers that can be changed at certain times. Every race, managers contribute points to their team if they finish their race in the top 8. The higher the manager's group, the more points they contribute.
From Race 1 to Race 5, a ranking of all nations is made. The top 16 nations will then advance to the knock-out stage, which follows the same format as the GPRO cup.

Season 76 final: Poland v France
Congratulations to Poland and France for making it to the Final! For the first time in World Cup history, two former champions are facing off for the big trophy. Poland are the leaders in the league as well, and have made it through to final fairly comfortably. France have had to work harder in their semi-final against Portugal, after having beaten defending champions Belgium 3-0 in the quarter final.
Spain and Portugal are having a duel between neighbours for the bronze medal.

An impressive season for Poland who can claim their first title !
We have no chance by figthing against us on 1/8th ;)
I've not posted my candidacy for 2 nexts seasons, i've thinked that someone will take my place...

There was a bit of a lack of hype for the World Cup this season, sorry about that.
As Sëbastien mentioned, there is an election process ongoing. So please check the website to see if you can vote for a candidate. If there are no candidates in your country, contact me if you would like to take the position of Team Captain!

...I want to suggest to Make the Cup more Interesting because after a few Races the Most Teams lose it.!!!
...I thing its necessary to Have the Right in Every Race to Replace ONE MANAGER.!!!
...from the 6 First.!!!!

The better i think it's to have a small cup after stage group, or after fews seasons, to make groups for qualifying and/or divisions with international ranking in WC results ;)

I'm sorry for not giving the World Cup a lot of love in the last seasons. I've been a bit too occupied with playing GPRO itself...
Congratulations to Belgium and Poland for winning the previous two editions! Runner-ups in each respective season were Greece and Argentina, who became the first non-European country to reach the final.
Now let's look at the future of the tournament. There have been some ideas to improve the World Cup and I think we could indeed spice it up a little more. It is too late to make any changes for Season 77 because I don't have the time to implement them at the moment.
So now is a good time to discuss any ideas that you may have, for implementation by Season 78. One thing I would like is to somehow have more interaction during the tournament, and maybe more involvement from more people rather than just the Team Captain. But it's hard to see how because the core idea of the World Cup should remain that large and smaller countries have an equal chance to compete (meaning: large nations have to be limited somehow, but in a fair way).
Please let me know if there is anything you like or dislike about the current format!

A proposition I have, joining a little @Ioannis Kalogirou (P2)
To implement a system who consists of deleting 1 or 2 of the bests managers of selection of a country for 3 races to renew a little the team and be not more competitive, but roll somes things.
For example, if I have to remplace Dominique Jean and Brice Meyer after race 5, I'm not sure that we can pass Romania.
You can add to this purposal à vote system in witch the community vote for a manager who will be auto selected.
But we can see today results, it's not the bigests countries who win the WC, it's one who have a good preparation and selection 😉

I have looked at this several times and would be happy to guide Wales to the final but right now with 7,698 managers on line, there are only 2 online from Wales and I am one of them. There are more online from my group of 40 than from a whole country. Yikes.
We would have absolutely no chance to compete against the likes of being able to choose from the amount of say USA, or England or in fact almost any other nation.
So as much as I may be interested, unless there can be some way to help a Nation compete, I gracefully decline - great idea though - thanks
