Tema: Parts wearing indicator during the race |

During the race we can see the tyre wearing and the fuel consumption. We, as good managers, need more info.....
I would be interested in the parts wearing in % during the race.
What do you think?
|
|
|
Good idea!
this should be data that is updated allready during the race. Would only have to be displayed. (no interference to the current game engine)

The purpose of the race broadcast is to give a TV broadcast like feel i think. Fuel and tyre wear is actually measured during real races i think. Suspensions, chassis, wings wear etc is probably not.
That said i wouldnt mind it being displayed at all.

nah, it'd make working out the wear on new tracks, too easy, and without the need to complete the race either.

For example:
We would be closer to a real team. More exiting race, when you are not sure your part can last till the end.

When we don't see wearing percentages it is exiting.

Same thing as from seeing your tyres and fuel stats in middle race, you can't change anything in middle of race, but you at least can forecast what will happen soonish. Yes, most managers know if they will smoke or not, if their parts will reach the red line or not, but at least in new tracks it might be interesting stuff to see, just a small addition. :)

In this case you dont need the tyre and fuel data....

Well, we, as good managers, should know wether a part will or will not last to the end without any graphics showing it, and as Shoaib said,I'm not sure about the realism of that either...

The tyre & fuel info is good cos it means after a few laps I can decide if I'm going to stay in the house & have the race on, or go storming off out to the pub in a bad mood.
as for car wear..

Don't like this idea, this would be good thing: Live race chat, like if you are watching race live there is chat where are all players who are watching the same group race.

Surely you know that anyway?
I think the race is better without the fuel/tyre wear indicators to be honest.. Then you really don't know what's happening :D

It's available after the race anyway so what's the harm in showing it during the race. It's not like you can do anything to affect it!

True. Why neccessary the tyre and fuel, in this case? And weather indicator? And lap times? And other data?
You will get them after the race....

the race screen is already full of information, until the layout isn't redesigned I doubt we will see any new development there :\

I searched this on forum because I think it is a great idea :) Anyone fancy a rethink on it? Would love to see my parts wearing on race screen, especially when I assume I will smoke but hope I won't like today lol

It isn't there because discovering how part wear works is one of the fundamental FOBY areas of the game.

as is tyre and fuel strategys? They are one of the biggest things to pinpoint and master as you go thru the race but you see that lap for lap :)

Like in the real races. I doubt they are able to follow part wear on the real races!

But knowing how much wore over 50/70/40 laps of a race will give as much info as seeing it each lap. Easy enough to work out from data if you want to. Same as fuel and tyres ....Can't see what is so very diff...would just make the race experience a lot more exciting
