Unfortunately we can only use 1 type of dry tyre, and the rain tyre.

If you are referring to the dry compound, no, you cannot change it during the race. You can change to Rain tyres, if needed.

Quote ( Stephane Verly @ August 3rd 2012,15:30:04 ) thanks, i talked about hard or soft.. i'll know for the following race! GPRO tyre and fuel policy/rulling is heavily inspired in the 2006-2008 F1 seasons.

If this is the only thing stopping the game keeping broadly in step with the real world F1 then I must admit to being slightly dissapointed. Would it not make the game more interesting to have more diversity on strategy that a multiple compound choice would give this great game. I just thought that the technical model (game engine) did not have the capacity for this. Still love the game though.

Everyone would quali on ES and change compounds after first pit... Or even at start of race if that also would be allowed. Woudn't work I think

the OP on newbie forum always gets thumbs down. Some players think people just aren't allowed to be new :D

But that's not the only difference...some obvious differences -
* Scoring is different * No refueling in F1 now * Only two dry tyres are allowed in F1 races, we have 4 choices * We don't have choice of intermediates (Would love that option over rain tyres in some races)
And the most important factor...we have no ability to control race, which is done on purpose due to many times zones, and it allows far more scheduling flexibility of players.

Yes, but the fuel load comes into play. You would have to carry enough fuel to get a reasonable lead to make it work. You would have to take a massive gamble that the ex. softs would allow you to run far enough into the race. There would be no point in taking on min. fuel for the sake of it. Hopefully the game is sophisticated enough that what you suggest would not necessarily be the best option. As in the real world a choice of two random compounds available for the race

But since the track is either fully wet or dry they would be useless?

Can we make choose to change the Tyre during pit stop as per our needs? I mean when we pits and we one refuel and later find out that our Tyre is not doing good, so we got to pit again which costs valuable time...

Unless there was a possibility that you would smoke and you were simply trying to steal the money for FL ;)
This one has been done to death a few times and the answer is always the same. Everyone would Q on XS for the best possible qual position and then continue to race on whatever compound they see fit for the rest of the race.
