I just watched the video from the crash...That's one of the most horrible crashes in F1 :X I really hope this will have happy ending and he will live!

@ Olivier - That post is not needed on here! if people want to view that they can elsewhere. Young guys use these forums too and that video shouldn't be posted here

Dan whilst I would agree those young guys were likely watching the race live or a re-run and may well have seen it. They're also generally more tech savvie than us oldies and will probably have uploaded it whilst we were watching the race!
FYI I watched it elsewhere but didn't post the link on our forum. If anyone wants to watch it they have most likely already seen it.

I can't help thinking if asvalt on the outside of corners is that good... The accident is just there were the car glides over the asvalt. When you see crashes with graveltraps you see the car bounce, i think he could have less injuries with a graveltrap. Ofcourse you can never know but still...

The question I ask myself is, as Massa says he was screaming it was too wet, why were so many drivers still on track on inters?

Massa may have been saying it was too wet but he was still on intermediates too.

Lots of media sources are running this as a story since the Japan GP but (and I'm happy to be corrected) I can't actually see any of them have the accompanying radio clips. Which is fairly unusual as they are all available. BBC I'm surprised at because they are always adding radio clips in their news articles... Kimi swearing, Lewis sulking etc... but nothing for this 'Massa was right' story
Seems strange. F1fanatics.co.uk usually post the full team radio transcripts but doesn't look like they've done it yet so will be interesting to read. I heard a clip where Massa is bitching about visibility, but not grip especially...

Agreed and there certainly wasn't anything I heard or saw but I watched the re-run not live.

What is more impressive, is the track comissioner wearing a green flag on the tower!!!!!!???
You are right Oliver, Thanks

Guys. would you mind stopping posting different links of that footage? People can search it up for themselves if they want to see it. Light-hearted people should not be watching it. Neither do younger ones. And some people, like me, will just give in to their curiosity and later regret it.

You need to imagine a horizontal line to the track. The green flag situation counts from that imaginary, horizontal line on, NOT BEFORE. The flag is waved behind Sutil's car, to indicate that there is no further problem AFTER this tower (and Sutil's car)

Thanks Belev, still is weird, even that the sector is another one, or by the accident, is weird.
But in F1 weird things are apenning, drivers are not there because they are the best one's, but because of the sponsors around them....

I would be prepared to accept that if they hadn't been waving double yellows until the moment they attached Sutils car to the crane! (and it is only a matter of around 5m) There also has to be a bit of common sense applied by the Marshals as that tower is clearly visible all the way from the exit of the first part of Dunlop and drivers seeing a waved green there will naturally think that part of the corner is hazard free, in fact from an approaching viewpoint the tower appears to be before the crash. It may technically be correct to have waved the green but then why were yellows waved just before? and I don't think sticking rigidly to the instructions is an excuse in this case. More than one person in history has been chastised for mindlessly obeying orders!

Paul, the flags were waved correctly. The rule is that the green section is AFTER the spot where the green flag was waved.

Flags are waved correctly like Willian said. Problem is that in this situation there should be SC on the track, not only yellow sector...

After seeing what happend on Hockenheim with Sutil too accident, SC is a joke, sorry, is merly my opinion.

I know this has been said but I don't understand two things. Firstly why they were waving yellows but stopped when Sutils car was attached to the crane (that seems very much like reacting a bit too soon) because that would mean that they were incorrectly waving the double yellows initially! and where the next section actually starts because it's pretty clear from some trackside photos that the front of Sutils car was level with the front of the tower so they were actually waving the flags at the spot of the accident. Also if you read what I've said I wasn't disputing whether the flags were technically waved correctly but whether some common sense should have been used as to an approaching driver the flags would appear to be before the accident spot as the tower is set back a bit from the track.
