PS: Deschamp, Pogba is an offensive and central midfielder in Juve, he is not a defender. Seeing Pogba 120 minutes at the back of defence is the most stupid thing I have ever seen.
Congratulations to Portugal. Was rooting quite hard for them even if I came into the championship without a favorite team. Respect to Ronaldo, can't seem to hate that guy, seeing all the emotion he put into every game and trying to continue even when his leg was busted.
Portugal had a coach on the bench, France had a buffoon. You could see how desperate Deschamps was after Eder's goal. Meanwhile, Santos kept his cool even after losing his best player. And he got his subs spot on, Moutinho and Eder changed the game. Oh, and Pogba was shit.Useless. didn't do athing. Juventus should be investigated for fraud if they sell him for 120million.
Quite an achievement to win the tournament with just 1 regular win, but nevertheless a good championship. It wasn't pretty, but when the Netherlands made it to the semi-final in 2014 it wasn't pretty either, result above all.
However, I believe the quality of the tournament would be a lot better with the old 16 team setup.
I dont remember the last time i've seen so many portuguese people on the streets celebrating. This is the proof football is more than just a game, it unites a whole nation.
Many portuguese people didnt believe we could win, I always said we had one of the most solid formations and great alternatives on the bench. I didnt expect a win against France though.
The match itself was epic. Best player gets injuried and Portugal proves that does not rely on Ronaldo in the field to win a game. On the bench, Ronaldo showed why he is a true team captain and pushed our players to their max.
Then there's Eder. He was extremely criticized for even being called up to Euro 2016. I remember seeing a petition on Facebook to replace Eder for a civilian at our national team and I never expected him to be the hero. He did say before the tournament he would score the decisive goal and everyone joked about that. I sware I will never joke about him again and I apologize for having done so previously.
This title is something that could have already happened, we already had better national teams than we have right now and played fancier football but it never got us the job done. Today is our happy day, the work has been finslly rewarded.
