Unfortunately i made a mistake with the tyres setting for the start (soft tyres with rain start). But the thing i dont understand is why the rule 'Wait to pit if it starts raining = 0' did not work out in this case.
My driver drove 29 rounds (!!!!) with the soft tyres - in a normal situation impossible for tyre wear... It's totally unrealistic. I think in such a case, the very slow first round and the extra pitstop you have to make after round 1 is enough as punisment.

It was ALREADY raining, it didn't start raining.

This rule is only enforced when the weather changes.

Because sometimes you will WANT to run the wrong tyres.....

It was already raining so it didn't "start raining". It's rather literal and there are cases where someone might WANT to start and stay on dry tyres from start in a start rain race so having it change because it IS raining isn't a good way to solve it. You'll just have to not make that mistake again I'm afraid.

I'm sure i'll not make this mistake again ;-)
But the case i tried to make is about realisme. I can imagine that in some rare situations you choose to start on dry tyres.
It's a pitty when such a small mistake (this was my first race whit a rainy start) ruin you're whole race. A race which i started from pole for the first time in my still young GPRO career :-(

After so many races I still don't understand why you can't have the default setting change to rain tyres for wet races. You could always switch it if you wanted to start on dry tyres.

I don't know if this rule works olny when the climate changes.
On last season a guy racing on my group chose the wrong tire when starts to rain and put stop after 3 laps. He maid a pit stop every 3 laps, put the wrong tire, run more 3 laps, stops again...
He've made more than 10 pit stops. When he pits, didn't happen another rain to force a new pit stop.
This mean that is a rule just to make possible a strategy with the "wrong" tire at the start.

That will be more likely to do with him putting a very low (10L) fuel load in......rather than tyres...

Quote ( Jasper Coosemans @ November 1st 2019,22:13:27 ) , it's one of the few features that lean towards pay to win. Lean towards... maybe slightly... but is not crossing it, not even a little
it's just a little reminder "are you sure of settings" (like car update has)
