Hello Africa!
Results for Round 3 of the AAL are below.
Again we start with the speed factors for this round:
Based on these factors the results for this rounds are as below:
Congrats to Alan De Swardt for his first AAL win having previously come second in R1. Yannick Das Neves obtains his first podium having not completed in R1 but now making up for lost opportunities. Sven Woxholt takes his first podium with 3rd, showing the value of consistency having coming in 5th in R1 and R2 now stepping on to the podium.
Shiro Mark come in at 4th in his second race after having missed R1. Jean-pierre Guillou comes in at 5th, his second consecutive points finish. Danam Owang finishes in 6th (his 3rd consecutive points finish - the only manager along with Sven Woxholt and Corey De Swardt to finish in the points in all three rounds so far. Terence Hill comes in at 7th after last weeks podium, and previous podium finisher Corey De Swardt takes the last available points in 8th.
The nations points for the week are as follow:
After R3 the Managers points stands as follows:
Alan De Swardt makes a huge leap from 4th to 1st in the standings after his R3 win. Just 1 pt behind is Danam Owang , dropping from first, but with 1 pt difference things are shaping up to an exciting season. Moving from 7th to 3rd is Sven Woxholt showing the value of consistency. Shiro Mark moves from 5th to 4th with his 4th in R3. Upeo Unaozidi holds on at 5th after her R1 win but no results since.
In terms of the nations table - based on the old points format the standings are as follows:

Hey @Peter Zed (R62)
If you are flying the Dutch flag but your heart in a Moz then I have no objection to you joining our league - would be nice if you change to Mozambique officially.
I would leave it up to the forum to see if they are happy for you to join. So I will be sure to include you in the next round if there are no serious objections.
In terms of "more real races" well basically we use modified times - so if you in Rookie and you do well then you should be able to complete with someone in the upper leagues. Basically the idea is if you kick ass in Rookie you should kick ass here regardless of who you compete with - but if you still struggling with GPro in general you are going to struggle here and truth is there are some amazing managers in the AAL. Personally the last 3 races I have been performing better then I did last season - but the best I have achieved here is 11th - so its competitive. Having said that - its all in the name of fun and African unity.

Hey all - just an update here
Along with the Master league which is running I wanted to start running some additional all African competitions concurrent to this one - and so I wanted to get your views.
Head to Head Divisions
Firstly I wanted run multi-divisional head-to-head leagues. Basically based on the 28 involved we will have 4 leagues of 7 managers each who will each week go head to head on a fixture basis. 7 Managers being an odd number means each week a Manager in each division will have a BYE. Managers in each division will rank according to their win loss ratios.
So 7 managers mean each will finish with 12 games - so a Manager with a 11:1 ratio will rank higher then one with a 10:2 ratio - draws would not be allowed. So if somehow there are two managers with the exact same modified speeds - the win will go to the modified fastest lap. Where two managers both skip the race - IE both record a zero speed - they will both record a loss. Which means the total number of losses in a league could exceed the total number of wins.
Now initially I wanted to place managers into the divisions on a random basis - but having thought about it - I want the divisions to range from top to bottom. So A will be the "Premier" league with B lower, then C etc. Each season the top 2 Managers in each league will promote and the bottom 2 will relegate.
How the Mangers will be sorted into the first divisions will be determined by there Master League positions at the end of Round 4 - So top 7 Managers will be in Division A, 8 -14 placed division B etc. Where 2 or managers have the same number points - preference will be given to their best results, then their next next results etc.
If we start from Friday's race (R5) - the divisions will close on Round 16.
Knock out "Cup"
Will start in Round 5 - with each fixture being 2 races. Winner of 2 races goes through to next round - where there is 1 win each the cumulative speed difference (as a percentage will be used) to determine the winner. We have 28 managers so we will start with a round of 32 with the top 4 seeded managers having BYEs in the round of 32 - and fixtures will be determined based on seeding based on the Master league table at the end of R4.
Modification to the Master League Nations table So one of the issues I have picked up that the Nations tables point system is not great to say the least. Now this may be a South African bias here, but with SA having so many managers relative to other nations it seemed fair and logical to divide the number of point all the managers from a nation score by the total number of managers from that nation.
The issue with this is that there are 40 point each round up for grabs with SA having managers so at best SA can only score 40/12 = 3.33 in the nations table - where smaller nations with 1 manager could in theory score 10 - so this needed to be fixed.
It is understood that SA naturally has a better chance of scoring points with almost half of the Manager in the AAL being from SA. So a smarter system is needed. This is what is proposed.
The Nations points for each round with now be a % - the total number of points a nation's managers do score / the total possible number of points a nation's managers can collectively score. So 1 nation with 1 manager maxes out at 11pts, 2 managers 19pts. 3 managers 25pts etc (inclusive of the bonus point for FL). Now taking Anglo the last round as an example scored 5 pts out of possible max of 11 for them - they will be awarded .45 pts. This works perfect, but we need to adjust again for nations with more then 8 managers as in the case of SA who could (in theory) with only 2/3rds of their managers take all 40 pts up for grabs. So in cases where a nation has more then 8 mangers will divide that score by (Number of nations managers/8) so in SA case in the last round - collective score was 20/40 = .5 pts / (12/8) gives 0.5 / 1.5 = .33
Based on this a modified Nations table is presented below. If anyone has a view on how this point system could be improved I would love to hear your views (either directly or on this forum).

Hey @Ruben Ferreira (R36)
Thanks for the feedback. Changing the flag should be easier. Trying to change to my real name too. All you have to request some admin.
I think is something like the Cup but in a league format. Just raced two races and will see about this later when I learn more.
So far so good. Went from 13th out of 13 to 6th out of 16 and still doing rookie mistakes. Can only get better. If the other rookies don't learn better than me. :-)
Will keep an eye on here.

Hey @Eugene Viljoen (R165) - please do. There isn't much to do - its a bit of a fantasy league that adds a bit spice for African managers - so I will include you as from R4 with the new managers. Great to see interest in the AAL increasing - so welcome.

Hey @Lubowa Charles (R31) - would be great to have Uganda join in the league. I think with the precedent having been set - I think we need to make it a rule that you HAVE to fly an African flag to be eligible to join the AAL.
I have not idea how one would go about changing there flag - but perhaps @Zé Pedro Paula (R62) could assist with some guidance as to how to get it done as he has managed to get it right.
But I am super happy to see African pride coming into the game.

Hi Lubowa,
I did have the same issue when I joined this great game. I do live in Belgium because I go to university overhere, and when I joined the game I did have a Belgian flag behind my name. And although I do love Belgium and it's people very, very much I'm proud to be from Kenya.
If I'm correct there is a forum topic about this, and otherwise just ask one of the admins who are very helpfull and will tell you who to ask. :)

Of course Sofiane,
but the competition already started when you didn't play GPRO yet. Maybe that Ruben could make a exception, and that you could still join the competition. But that is not up to me of course.
But welcome to GPRO Algeria and Sofiane. :)

Results for Round 4 of AAL
Firstly - apologize it taking so long to get these results out. As always, we start with the speed factors table for this round which is below:
Now the results for round 4:
A huge congratulations to Danam Owang (DRC) for his second win. It was an extremely close race with Miguel Queiroz (Namibia) who finished with the exact same speed (at 2 decimals), but the win goes to Danam who completed the race 0.014 seconds faster! Exciting and tight racing.
Miguel in second place takes his first podium having finished 4th in R1 and R2 and a low 12th in R3 – so a great bounce back from Miguel. In third was Shiro Mark (Angola) who take his second podium.
Terrance Hill (ZAR) in 4th this round takes the fastest lap bonus points.
The manager standing after R4 are as follows:
Danam Owang (DRC) retakes top spot from R3 leader Alan De Swardt (ZAR) who drops to 3rd place. Danam Owang staring to make a gap at the top of the table with 27pts – 8pts clear of second placed Shiro Mark (Angola) who moves up 1 place from last round’s 3rd spot. Other notable movers are Miguel Queiroz (Namibia) who moved 2 places to 4th and Terence Hill (ZAR) who moves 3 places to 5th.
In terms of nations points – points assigned in R4 based on the new nations points system are as follows:
Namibia are awarded 0.73pts with their sole manager achieving a 2nd, Angola assigned 0.55pts with their sole manager obtaining a 3rd and DRC assigned 0.4pts with 1 of their 3 managers winning in R4. South Africa are assigned 0,25pts with their managers taking 4th to 8th and the fastest lap.
Accordingly, the nation’s table is as below:
Angola on 1.73pts keep their top place with Namibia closing the gap in second with 1.64pts. In third is South Africa 1.11 pts closely followed by DRC with 1.08 pts
