Would love to get at least 20 managers to actively op in so we can have 1 complete league. If there are more then we will need to split the league into tiers based on last season's OBR. Think the leagues will need to be max 20 mangers each - may be less if the numbers don't make sense.
Will right up a "rule book " if there is enough interest.
If you are keen - please drop me a PM or just post on this forum so I can start building up the league sheets.

Take a simple example of 5 drivers at various levels as below
Driver Level Driver speed
Driver 1 Elite 188.1
Driver 2 Master 184.2
Driver 3 Pro 182.4
Driver 4 Amateur 181.1
Driver 5 Rookie 178.9
Now obviously the Elite driver kills everyone - but the question is how did they do relative to the top manager at their level? We we record the top times for each level and then work a modification for each level as below:
Driver Level Driver speed Top speed in level Time factor Modified Speed
Driver 1 Elite 188.1 190.1 100.00% 188.10
Driver 2 Master 184.2 187.2 101.55% 187.05
Driver 3 Pro 182.4 185.4 102.54% 187.02
Driver 4 Amateur 181.1 183.3 103.71% 187.82
Driver 5 Rookie 178.9 181.0 105.03% 187.89
So based on the above - Driver 2 in Master would have his time enhanced by 1.55% to compensate of his level, Driver 3 by 2.54% and so on. The end result you have a competitive "inter level" league that make things interesting and (hopefully) fun. (I may need right up a "rule book " if there is enough interest.)

Its a little bit of silly fun that will take ZERO time for anyone participating. I would do all the reporting - You just race as normal and I will jut take you race time for your last race - which is available.
The idea is basically to find a means to build a bit of excitement from the African managers - I mean currently African managers only constitute 1.74% of all managers on GPro with South African managers being 64% of that. Also our nation cup points to managers is not great with Africa achieving 4.57pts per manager with the world average being 5.97pts - so I am hoping that things like this can get those numbers up. Having said that - some individual countries in Africa have amazing ratios - like Gabon who average 23.73pt per manager and Ghana with 11.60 - so there is no lack of talent - just need to get the over all participation up.

We have 14 confirmed entries for this seasons All Africa League representing 7 countries which I think is awesome. Confirmed managers so far are:

Also I wanted to share some of the feedback I have received so far - just to explain why I think a league like this was needed:

"I liked what you proposed and I also agree with the creation of an African league. I am the only participant in the gpro of my country. Having such a league already, it would help not to feel a little excluded compared to other countries that have a large number of drivers."
So this league has already achieved its objective - to give African managers from smaller countries a little spice to keep them wanted to come back and compete. So from the bottom of my heart - thank you to all the mangers that have signed up - this is going to be awesome.

So I have been working on a competition formats and too be honest all the formats I have seen have been cool so I think as opposed to 1 format - we will have several formats running concurrently.
Standard format will be a standard league with points issued for finishing positions. I want the leagues to be competitive, so if we so have more then 24 entries, we will have to split the leagues into 2 leagues. The league in this case (in the first season will not rank above each other). So lets assume we have 25 entries - we will split the leagues into 2 - 12 and 13 entries each. The at the end of the season the top 6 of each will be "promoted" to a upper league with the remainder managers being placed into a lower league with entries for next season, and then going forward this will be a promotion/relegation format.
Head-to-Head league. These will be smaller league with a max of 8 managers per league. Again in the first season the league will not rank, but next season the managers will be placed into ranked leagues based on how the managers finish at the end of this season. Ranking of these league will be based on a win/loss ratio with speed overs and unders being used as a decider factor where 2 or more managers have the same win/loss ratio. This format will start on race 2 and run for 16 races.
Knock out cup formats - will have a cup or two thrown in. The format of which will be completely based on how many entries we have.

Hi all - The results for round 1 of the AAL are posted below
First of all - as stated previously as this is a multi-class league we need to applied speed factors for each league to make every manager realistically comparable (for the sake of fun). The factors applied in Round 1 as a result of the best result in each class are illustrated below
Based on the modifed times the results of Round 1 of the AAL master league are as follows. Not that we have 25 managers asking/agreeing to join the AAL with 1 entrant not starting so we have the result for the 24 managers who competed.
As a result - the managers tables is as follows
And the nations table (equivalent to a constructors table) is presented below. Note that the score for each nation in each round is caluclatoed as the total points scored by the nations' managers divided by the number of managers from that nation competing in the round (which explain why SA has a particular decimal)

Great work Ruben it looks real impressive.
Um no @Upeo Unaozidi (A15) - you have the potential to make Elite and I would be sad if I don't get to see that. We have had 1 African make Elite (for one season), the next is to see an African point scorer in Elite - then a podium, then a winner, then a champion. That is the BIG goal of this AAL.

Regarding Elite level. That is the goal of course, and I can prize myself lucky to have a few teammates who have already achieved this. So I keep my ears and eyes open and try to learn as much as possible from their valuable lessons.
But first things first of course, and a promotion in season 78 would be a nice first step.
Patience is a virtue. ;)

Good day African managers. My apologies for getting these results out so late, but here we are - results of Round 2 of the AAL
Firstly we start with the Speed factors for the race:
Now for the race resullts:
Congrats to @Danam Owang (DRC) for his first with as well as @Shiro Mark (ANG) and @Terence Hill (ZAF) for their first podiums - Terrance also takes the fastest lap and the bonus point on offer there (a massive improvement on his R1 result of 23rd)
Its also worth noting that 2 new entries appear in these results - They were late on their application but after much debate we elected to allow late entry for these two managers - one of which is Shiro Mark
