Honest question, are these random selections? I have never known the answer to this. Because I find it strange that we never have two oval tracks in the same season? Or have we and I have just forgotten?
Also, Rafaela Oval or Indy Oval aren't in the top 17 most expensive tracks? I would have thought they would be because mainly engine wear.

My observation is that Steff has a method when selecting the season tracks. He does pick tracks that are in the current F1 calendar and places them close in date to GPRO's races (same week), and then he fills the rest probably putting an eye on the wear (hence we won't see high wear engine tracks near ovals) + geographical proximity (again, related to F1 calendar I think).

There is only 1 oval in the calendar. Plus they take the f1 races on that weekend, shove them on the friday before, then geographically sort the rest of the races, so bunch of Europe together,bunch of America together, bunch of Asia together
And his "thing" only runs from 0%, so doesnt take into account you will need a new engine before the race and after the race, same with the rest of the parts, hence why it doesnt work

For me that's the only part that needs to be tweaked.

okay, I really have to say that I just choose this scale for the moment as it is in most every calendar topic present and most know it. A calendar with my own numbers would maybe look a bit different.

Yes, they are both in the top 17 of the most expensive tracks. But I use for a calendar only one track of a country. And both tracks are in their country only on position two of the local ranking.
And yes, first of all I set the real F1-Races on the Friday before the race. Then I try to fill the gaps. As we have the most european tracks, you will also find a majority of european tracks on the calendar. Then I try to have the other continents "on block" whenever possible. And I try to have a look on engine wear and total wear as well. There should not be four high engine wear tracks in a row. At least the forth track should give you a little chance to recover. (I just noticed, that I made a little mistake here for this calendar. Should have switched Rafaela with Austin. Sorry for this fault)
