I know if you know how it works exactly ;)
I truely don't know if a remote datacenter is allowed to update/change a car's computer during a race, but the driver can certanly change settings to make the car mor efficient and/or solve problems. Engine, gears, brakes, can all be changed by the driver. And yes, that's done via radio with the engineer, akhough for brakes for example constantly by driver preferences.) So it does happen in motorsports & F1 for sure. IF it is within the rules that is. Purely mechanical parts like the wings cannot be changed.
That's probably where GPRO might be off. BUT I don't know for sure... I didn't see it happen yet in my team, I did see NON mechanical problems being resolved without pit.
I like :)

Probably a remote connection.

Weird, never seen this before. My driver Qualified 15th and finished the race 4th on a fav track. Normally that would give him a bit of a motivation boost, maybe 20-30 points. However my guy lost 5 motivation points??? That's a new one for me. Is that a bug or a normal feature?

It's normal, as race position is only 1 factor among others that contribute to driver motivation.

My first round cup opponent is currently showing as purple in the Qualifying results page... Weird.

Quote ( Miel Soeterbroek @ March 6th 2020,22:31:18 ) He clearly wanted that win on his FT :) Or pissed off at not least getting podium. :)
He also had fav track at Yeongam, 2 races earlier, where he qualified 14th and finished 3rd, gaining 35 moti points Getting into the points from a significantly lower quali spot has always gained my driver moti, until now. I was just puzzled, since in it has never happened to me before.

Why can't I downgrade any part? I already have wear from testing, so Downgrade should be available as an option, just like Upgrade is available...
From the Rules...
2.1 Update car Here you can spend money to improve your car. How you improve your car is up to you. The screen shows your current car characteristics, and the part levels and wear of your current car configuration. You can perform one of the following actions on each part:
• Leave the part as it is. • Buy a new lower level part (Wear reduces to zero) • Buy a new higher level part (Wear reduces to zero) • Downgrade to a lower part (Wear reduction is shown before downgrading)
The "Total Costs" box at the bottom will keep a running total of the cost of all the changes you wish to make. You can also see your current balance at the bottom.
Note: Once you click update car, you cannot change any further parts until after the race so do all the upgrades you want to do in one go.

From the WIKI
If a part (higher than level 1) has some wear you can downgrade it to a lower level for free. This downgraded part will have less wear recorded against it, but will REPLACE your existing part (i.e. it is thrown away - cannot be re-selected at a later date).

Is this a bug or is something that the admins forgot to adjust so it complies with the rules?

Basically you are not allowed to get a "brand new 0% wear" part by downgrading a used part. At least that's how I read the code. As long as the downgraded part has at least 1% wear, the downgrade will be allowed.

Thanks for the info Vlad. Is it possible to add this note to the rules please?
I planed this season to start with downgrading some parts. But I lost 1 million for testing 4 laps (just to add "some wear") and also my plan is ruined now

|
|
While you edit the rules, they also seem to indicate that you cant buy a part level equal to the one you had ;)

Edit: Not really ruined as I tested as much as possible to let me do the planed downgrade. But the result will not be the same :(

Actually it is easier to accept this as bug report and fix it. I just did :)
The limitation did not make much sense anyway.

Spoken like a true nerd! I'd rather fix a bug than write up some documentation 😜

just saw there are more Q2 qualifiers than Q1 for AM. how is that even possible?
|
|
|
Q1| Amateur (3085 -> 86.51%)
Q2 | Amateur (3091 -> 86.68%)
1.+2. | Amateur (3091)

This is true for Pro, Master and Rookie as well at the moment.
