The notice was released in Brazil by the imprense. It´s not oficial yet, which should gonna happen in next few hours, but he is gonna replace Maldonado, in a 5 years contract, and will earn Money to race, don´t carrying sponsors for the team.

not 100% trustable imo - if true, could be good.

Hasn't Rob Smedley (Massa's Race Engineer at Ferrari) already gone to Williams for next season? If so that might give more weight to the news.

My Portuguese is a little non existent, but it makes perfect sense for Massa and Williams to join forces.

Massa has already said he will only take a drive he knows could be competitive, and well Williams is really the last hope, yes the last few years haven't been the best, but they still have a rich history, and you can never guess what the future will hold for them.

I could never see Lotus taking Massa on, there is no connection between the two, and I've never even heard of either talking to each other. I can see Williams jumping at the chance of having Massa, while Lotus probably would not have even considered them, they want drivers who can get the most out of the car, and unfortunately, since his accident Massa has unarguably been much slower then Alonso the majority of the time, maybe a change is what he needs to get back up there.

Or it might be an excuse to make the story more believable...

Not that I'm saying it won't be true, just best to wait for more solid information to come through.

With the way they treat 2nd driver in Ferrari even in a back of the grid team he will be better off.

And in case someone tells me about the bad seasons Massa had, just consider how difficult it's for a driver to give his best when he's at best a test subject about which strategies, parts are given to 1st driver and expected to ruin his race to help 1st driver up the grid.

Hat is off to McLaren and Mercedes for that. They dont do such BS.
I don't care if it helps gain a championship , the whole method Ferrari uses is simply bad for the sport and the audience.

I like Ferrari as a team but not on this field

I think if Williams make a competitive car in next season, Massa can fight to title!! Its a good combination, and Bottas was young to be first driver. In this case, Massa can get the team around his cockpit and use than to make difference. Massa is the number one driver of Williams now.

Go Massa!! 2014 and 2015 can be your years!

Yea but Hulkenberg not in a Lotus is a bigger waste imo. I know Hulk will hang on at Sauber (Force India looking less likely especially as Perez getting booted out of McLaren)

But I would take Hulkenberg in a Lotus to the detriment of Maldonado not being in F1 any day. But then again I would say that as I don't have much time for Pastor

I don´t think so... My guess is he is out, and Nico is gonna be in Lotus next year.

I hope for this. It is what we all want to see but maybe money will determine otherwise.

Maldonado is a mountain of money, and also have some talent. I do not believe that it is outside the grid. The Lotus needs money more than winning drivers. One reason for the departure of Kimi, was the incredible financial debt, which he produced in his favor in the team due to the good results

Yes, but Lotus seems to have a deal with an Arabian Group and, with that, they don´t need PDVSA´s money.

Maldonado won't be out of a drive, I think it's still an option that he uses his money to get Paul Di Restas seat at Force India. It's a real mess especially as Perez more than likely to be looking for a drive now as well.

I dunno how this will all play out but there will be 1 or 2 really experienced drivers without a seat for next season. It will be a genuine shame for whoever misses out.

(unless Maldonado does end up without a drive, in which case I'll have a play with myself to celebrate)
