To be honest, as much as I like to see 3 cars per team and how awesome it would be, the financial costs would be too much to cope with.

I agree. After what seem S to be The state of caterham and marussia ecclestone should not consider putting 3 cars.

Top teams have a signed agreement with berni that they must provide a 3rd car if the numbers get too low so I wouldn't completely rule it out. Although I also think unlikely so stick to 2 car predictions

There was a recent interview with Bernie where he clarified that some of the top teams may be asked to provide a 3rd car for one of the struggling teams. That is, not run as a 3 car team, but provide a 3rd car so another team can run it.

It kind came out of nowhere, and blew the doors off the the 3 car team discussions.

But how can that happen when the other 2 teams(CAT and MAR) are put in administration?

I think they wil race next season with 18 cars, Ferrari had already switched their focus from Marussia to Haas a while ago and now without Bianchi even more.
So backing for Marussia might be even a bigger problem next year

Mosley has said recently that when he had Presidency, he suggested an idea where all teams have an equal amount of money at the start of the season and to gain more money, they just need to sign sponsorships. I think this is a good idea.

Look on BBC Sports F1 part for the story...

Unfair how Red Bull can still keep their sister team. Plus, if Toro Roso stays, Sauber or Lotus might leave to comply with Bernie's suggestion.

I agree. Winning teams will still be able to get more money because it's easier for them to get sponsors, but at least you won't get the problems like right now, where 2 teams are unable to finish the season because they have a lack of money!

To be fair it'd be too late to kick out Toro Rosso now, since they already signed one driver. When they force Toro Rosso to leave now, Verstappen will either have to leave F1 or he has to take the third spot at Red Bull and I don't think that is meant to happen.
I don't see 3 cars/team happening in 2015 yet, maybe 2016 if they come with an early decision. Too many contracts have been signed to make third seats happen imo.

The main reason why Marussia are in administration is because Bianchi isn't racing to bring in sponsors while Caterham just need to be taken over by a good team to regain faith.
Mosley's idea seems the best option to keep all teams in F1 and not just fast teams.

Just saying, would be nice if more leading sport car manufactures like Lamborghini or Audi enter the sport.

I doubt it, the F1 entry probably was probably still linked to Manor Racing for convenience since that's what the team was called before Virgin bought them. Whatever the team is now will be no more since their assets are being sold off, I'm not sure where this leaves Manor Racing and their GP3 and FRenault teams though (I'd imagine they're unaffected beyond the lost Marussia sponsorship).

Looking at how things in Venezuela are taking an even more serious turn, I wouldn't bet on Maldonado being in a seat next year. If PVDSA are plural billions in debt and any kind of default happens. It could cost Pastor his sponsorship.

seems obvious now that Mclaren still haven't decided on Magnussen or Button. People on the inside are saying Honda, Alonso, and some of the big management names in the team want Button. But the money issue could come into play. Also Button said on his BBC interview he wants to stay in F1, I wonder if something has been said to him.

He has definitely shown them why he should be kept, he's imo been the best driver in the second half of the season. Massively outperforming the car. 4th compared to 9th is an accurate portrayal of the performance between him and Magnussen all season

yeah he's not the best qualifier but he's great in races and it doesn't really affect him. And when he's got the right car he is literally unbeatable. I remember when he won at Spa, he got pole and Hamilton couldn't hold a candle to him, I think he also lead every lap.
