Would it be a bad thing to know what tyre compound other managers are on during the race?
So maybe, in brackets, (Like the managers points), it Displays the compound on different cars
Example
1. A.van Hulkenburg (43)(ES) - Extra soft 1. A.van Hulkenburg (43)(S) - Soft 1. A.van Hulkenburg (43)(M) - Medium 1. A.van Hulkenburg (43)(H) - Hard
Thoughts?

Wouldn't that take away some of the fun of not knowing what strategy your competitors are on ?

So teh point is to be more realisitc?
In that case we could restrict everyone to two tyre compunds insted of 4, and force everyone to use both compunds in every race.
Between you and me, that would ruin the game.
It strikes me that this would just be a way for people to quickly work out what tyres suit which tracks by not having to work it out for themselves, making the game that much easier.
Big fat :thdn:

those lazy no data collecting guys would love it. nope Armin collecting data should be rewarded
i can only agree with Sion on this.

HAHA, OK, get one of the admis to close this topic, ive copped enough abuse for a couple of days :P

yeah and putting stupid titles on forum threads also makes it difficult for others to search and then the same things keep coming up again and again....
Armin, before you think of another idea, maybe that you think that there should be more races a week, or that a new livery should me made called "camouflage", or that we should all start with the same cars and drivers so it was more fair, or any other wild idea you might think of, just think... WWHD
"What Would Håkan Do?"
EDIT:Title Change, I wonder who did that? :D

Thats a good idea! :P Why not displaying also when they are gonna pit? :P Like: Sotiris Hatzisavas (20) (S) (Pit in lap 31 for tech problems) :P No offense but I dont like that idea! :) No need mate! I like this... "mysterious atmosphere" of not knowing on what strategy other people are! :)
it certainly would be bad when watching the race it adds something not knowing :)
Hey Sotiris, werent you meant to be my teamate at McLaren in the forum game? > You left me to drown!!

What about a poll idea: How many more ideas will ARMIN have before the end of the season
there would have to be too many options on that poll

Have like a range
1) No More 2) 1, Then he will be banned by Nigel for using an inappropriate title 3) Maybe 1 or 2, but thats it. 4) The New server pulls out a gun on itself
1) None 2) 1 or 2 3) 3+ 4) Who knows?

Well, I disagree with being told what tyres people were using before the race, as people may use that information to change their strategies, and would ruin the tension of "when will that damn guy infront of me pit in" and also, after the race you can easily work out most of the time what tyres people are on. So I don't see any point of it, and I don't think many other people will agree it would be needed either.
EDIT:Is that on topic enough for you Nigel? :P
it wouldn´t be bad to see what tires others are wearing in live race but sure it would suck if you could see what they wear in qualify
If it was restricted purely to your own race (you couldn't see what the elite leagues were doing from Rookie for example) and the information was only shown during the race replay it might be nice, and realistic, but it's not helpful as you can't alter things in real-time and it'd be possible to abuse this information (although again in a realistic manner I believe).

Armin, sorry I didnt reply sooner but I went away for the weekend, did you miss me ;)
Anyway, in my opinion, it wouldnt give you that much more info that you already could get by seeing when a car pits or when its tyres started to 'wobble'.
for example, the fact that someone 2 stops in certain weather conditions will tell you they used soft tyres and if they 3 stop they used Extra Soft tyres. Occasionally the lines might be blurred but thats it.
We already are told when someone is using Rain tyres instead of Dry tyres and how is Armins idea different.
If you object to his idea then I have an alternate idea under the same banner (what was this topic called originally anyway) which goes:
Take away seeing the difference between Rain & Dry tyres on the race screen (and light version). If somone chooses to start a wet race on dry tyres or vice versa why should we see it so easily. That way we can see what sort of strategy they have gone for. It also will stop us laughing when someone starts an all dry race on Raintyres because they forgot to change it.
If we want to see what tyres we have on our own car this can be added in with the fuel & tyre bars quite easily.
How does that grab you folks.

This is the bit I like the most about the current system
